Krinos Kalamata Olives in Vinegar Brine and Olive Oil - Great for Slicing & Dicing and Creating Appetizers & Delicious Meals, 2lb Jar

Rarely do I ever leave reviews, but I had to speak up on this.#1) I could not have packaged these olives for shipping any better myself... by far the best packaging of glass I've ever received from anyone on Amazon. They taped the jar to a stiff piece of styrofoam so it could not work its way through the styrofoam peanuts, there's no way it could get damaged in shipping (see attached photos)#2) Krinos is the gold standard in kalamata olives, I'm in my late 50s and have been eating Krinos olives literally longer than I can remember (Mom was 100% Greek)#3) If you do not like these olives, then you just don't like kalamata olives.#4) They are fresh, the expiration date on this jar is a year and a half from now!It has become almost impossible to buy whole kalamata olives at the grocery store anymore (who in their right mind would buy pitted kalamata olives to begin with?) I was so thrilled to find these on Amazon, but for several weeks I debated whether or not to buy these olives from this seller due to the reviews... Out of sheer desperation, and not being able to find whole kalamata olives in the grocery store, I said the heck with it, and figured I'd give it a shot. Now I am mad that I almost didn't buy from this seller, and those false reviews made me wait so long!

I was very excited to find this size of Med olives! They have gotten very expensive.However, two things, first they’re too salty for me and I don’t think I like the pitts.However, a good value for the price.

My dad's family was Greek and grew up on feta cheese, kalamata olives, lamb of all types, and fabulous desserts and pasties. I am not fond of pitted Kalamatas -- they're not as flavorful as the ones you can pick from the trees all over Greece. But here in the USA, most varieties sold are pitted (probably because of liability). I love these Krinos Kalamata Olives because they're firm, very flavorful and sold in a large quantity that keeps me going for about 1 month. Bravo!

Funny taste.

My jar also came with a loose cap but fortunately not much had spilled. Parthenonfoods should check the jars much better before sending them off. I bought these olives becaue they were unpitted and unpitted olives are hard to get in America. Pitted olives loose taste amd become mushy and so I was really delighted that these are available. The olives are very good in taste. They are not of the highest quality - some had to be discarded because they had become dark and soft - but they are so much tastier than the pitted Kalamata olives that you can buy elsewhere. And the best - they ship them for free all the way to Hawaii!

Excellent olives! I didn't realize how large the jars would be when I ordered them (and 4 jars at that!), so I've been eating olives constantly for a month now. What I found to be an interesting enhancement to the flavor, is to peel 2 cloves of garlic and toss into a jar after it's opened. Another flavor hint is to marinade a few olives in Greek dressing an hour before eating them.I did, however, have an unfortunate experience when I accidentally bit down on a pit. It loosened a crown which eventually popped off two days before Thanksgiving. My dentist was able to work me in and reattach the crown, so no turkey lost! I much prefer the olives with pits though. They have less surface area for the brine to permeate. And I enjoy the challenge of "working around the pit". Although I didn't do very well on that one olive :(Excellent rating to Krinos! I will definitely order more of their olives.

I bought 3 different brands of calamata olives on Amazon and this one is my favourite!! Very tasty!

To eat of course. I rinsed & drained them as they are to salty then I added olive oil, oregano, hot pepper flacks.
