The stories that inspired the quilts.
Spectacular quilts in both design and color. I like to look at the large full page photographs of each quilt, the fact that the story is on the left and the quilt picture on the right, show VFW is a methodical thinker and a fantastic designer. She can visual a large finished quilt before she starts. All the piece fit perfectly together as does her message of how she found her artistic medium in fabric and now she has a clear view of her path in life.

So Exciting!
I love VFW's quilts. The shapes, the colors, the spontaneity, the precision. The quilts here are beautifully photographed so that you see the color play and if there is a pattern referenced where it can be found. Ms. Wolfe frequently creates as she goes, so there is not always a pattern, but the quilt is the inspiration to do something similarly. I think she has more quilts so I hope there is another book soon!

Disappointed in lack of patterns
Beautiful coffee table book, beautiful quilts, but was very disappointed in lack of patterns. Some reference made to where to buy templates on website but otherwise just a story book.If you are looking for a how to make one of VFWs beautiful awe inspiring quilts this is not the book. There was no preview on this book available. Had I seen the preview I would have not purchased this book.

Inspiring Free Creativity
I Am Not Perfect And That is OK is the title of a quilt by Victoria Findlay Wolfe. In her new book Playing With Purpose one of her first messages is that creativity and improvisation in art entails making mistakes. It is part of the process and one should not be dejected when things go awry.Give yourself permission, she advises, to let your work evolve and change. Allowing your work to evolve organically means letting go of set expectations. It is OK to set aside a project until you have a clear vision or new skill set to complete it. But don't expect to reach some fantasy of perfection. Worrying about perfection brings negativity and failure.Your work should bring joy. Creating a quilt should be playful. Don't overthink it.We worry too much about color matching and using a limited fabric palette. Wolfe's work breaks out of such self-imposed limitations. Forget the 'rules'. There are no rules. There is what works, what tells your story.Few quilt artists are as creative with preprinted fabrics as Wolfe.Learn new skills, Wolfe encourages. Break out of your comfort zone. As an artist, Wolfe is always evolving.Tell the quilt police (in your head and outside) where to go. It's your fabric, your time, your memories, your joy. Just make!~from Playing with Purpose by Victoria Findlay WolfeIt is wonderful to study these pages of Wolfe's inspiring quilts.I was given access to a free ebook by the publisher in exchange for a fair and unbiased review.

Disappointed, not a pattern book
Thought I was buying a book with patterns in but in fact it's a picture book with the story of how the quilts came about. It's not clear in book description what you are really getting. Quite disappointed
