Fairytale Cakes: 17 Enchanted Creations by Noga Hitron (2008-10-07) Paperback – 1747

I have been really looking forward to getting this book and I am mostly pleased with it. The book's topic of 'fairy tales' was my main reason for purchasing and it does have a good selection of them. Obviously, everyone will have their own favourites in the book and ones they may miss out. The book is rather beautiful and has a fantasy font throughout it's pages. The projects inside (and there are plenty of them) are definitely a good challenge for a beginner to sugarcraft. However, for a book that is mostly focused on teaching fondant modelling I would have liked to see more of the projects have far more detail to them. Some figures were too simple, and I might just give those ones a miss. I am a very visual learner and this book gives instructions with paragraphs and paragraphs of words. So I would have much preferred more project photos in the book. To conclude, I am not a huge fan of some of the simplistic style in the projects, but personally, there are four out of the seventeen projects that I think are awesome and I plan to give a go. I am happy to have this book in my collection but just a bit too wordy for a cake decoration book.

Gorgeous designs and beautiful book illustrations......so explanatory and everyone loves looking at this book for cakes to make and inspiration to use some parts on cup cakes as well...

It's very easy to follow the instructions - must say it's the best book I have when it comes to explaining "how to". Noga's designs are amazing!

I looked forward to this book arriving,and found myself really disappointed. the cakes seemed really uninspiring and looked as if a child had been let loose with some plasticine.one to miss
