The portable frig of our dreams! Can't hardly wait to take it on another road trip!
We were looking to buy a small portable frig for the two of us to use and settled on the C22. Love it! First we ordered on a Sunday evening (shipped from California--and we live several hours' drive from east coast) and we were leaving for a trip on Friday, about 2:30pm. It was shipped by FedEx and arrived at 1 PM Friday--just in time for taking it along on a road trip.Plugged it in for a bit and it cooled rapidly!! Transferred to our CX-5, changed to other supplied power cord and off we went. Hardly any problems other than out own brief learning curves. Made a quick photocopy of the two sided one page, tri-folded instructions. While pretty minimal, other than the settings to change temp type from Celsius to Fahrenheit (see procedure at Q & A on Amazon website), it got us going. We plugged it in at the lodge where we were staying for two nights and found it a dream. Only hiccup was when we were leaving and plugged it back into our vehicle's battery port, it gave an F1 indication--which meant car battery deficiency. Following the instructions, we cleared the F1 code, changed the battery setting on the C-22 from max to econo mode and we were quickly back in action. Stopped for a few hours on the return and found the temp consistently held though the duration without draining our CX-5's battery. We had 2 cartons of milk standing vertically, some bottled water and several containers with perishables like cheese. Kept it all cool for the duration of our trip. I couldn't be bothered with changing the temp read out from C to F so I just winged it and will get to it in the future. If you remember your math from way back in elementary school, follow this quick formula:Convert from Celsius to Fahrenheit: 9/5 multiply by C readout, then add 32.A quicker way is to use the decimal equivalent rather than the fraction: 1.8 multiply by current C readout, then add 32.Our initial ambient setting when C-22 was first turned on just out of the shipping carton was 27. For example:27 x 1.8 = 48.6. Then add 32. This converts it to 80.6 degrees F. I needed to refresh my brain cells anyway, so was happy to do the math on a piece of paper.I set it to 10 degrees Celsius. 10 x 1.8 = 18. Then 18 add 32 = 50 degrees F. That seemed more than adequate to keep things chilled effectively. Remember, 0 degrees Celsius is 32 degrees F--water freezes. The temp settings cooled to 7 degrees, then warmed to 10 degrees before the compressor came on to restore desired temp. If you set it too low, it could freeze your stuff when it cools, so keep that in mind. If you wanted it colder, maybe try 5 degrees C which will give a slim temperature cushion so it doesn't drop to 0 C when at the low point of the periodic cooling cycle.Noise: really, pretty minimal. It was fairly quiet when the compressor kicked in. We slept maybe 10 feet away from it and it never woke us up like our a/c in the room window unit did! It was pure pleasure! Must be some interior insulation, which also apparently keeps the temps from fluctuating wildly. The cord for use in the cigarette lighter connection in your vehicle is a generous ten feet in length. I carried it, fully loaded, about 60 feet and up several stairs and that was not overly strenuous for me. The side "handles" were adequate. No plastic smell noticed at all when first plugged in, nor when transferred to our vehicle for the several hours road trip. Cute little ice cube tray with its own compartment. Don't think we had it cold enough to be effective to freeze it.All in all, we can't brag on this unit enough! The size is perfect for the two of us. Can hardly wait for our next overnight road trip!

Energy efficient and reliable
I installed this fridge in my van and connected it to my 24vdc solar batteries where it ran 24hrs a day, 7 days a week, for three and a half years! Easily one of the best products I've purchased in a long time.

13 months and dead
I liked this unit but only13 months before it stops cooling isn't enough for me to purchase a new one.

It passed my test
I only had it for three days, but it passed my test.1. Fridge Temp: I plan to carry things like milk and medicines and would need it to keep the temp at a few degrees above freezing. The unit was set at Eco-cool and temp setting was at 34 F, using 110V with unit in room temp, the unit regulated between 33F and 38F after half hour.2. Max cool: The unit was in the house at room temperature. Setting at max cool (using 110V, set at -20 C), it made ice in 1 cup of water (250 ml) placed in a metal cup inside the unit, but ice formed only at the surface around the rim. The small ice tray holding 100 ml water was also more than half frozen. It took one hour. It would take longer to solidly freeze everything. I think it would keep frozen things frozen, but it would take time to freeze large items starting at room temperature.3. In car use: The unit comes with a long cord (10+ ft?) so I could plug the cig plug in the dash and connect to the unit in the trunk through the hole in the back seat. I tried it with the unit in the trunk. It works.4. Negatives: The centigrade readout in my unit is not accurate, but the Fahrenheit readout is within a degree. I can live with that. The operation is not intuitive. Need to follow the directions. I got the hang of it after a few tries. The direction for switching between C and F is missing, but it's in the question/answer on Amazon.5. Positives: It has a fairly large inside compartment; it fits exactly 6 half-gallon standard milk cartoons. The unit looks good and seems well insulated. It has a nice light inside near the top that come on automatically when the lid opens. The 110v is converted to 12v by a small module total length of cord is about 8 ft.My unit arrived damaged (due to FedEx). I returned the broken unit on Monday, 8:30 am at FedEx, and I received the replacement by that same Friday, 2:30 pm.

Arrived with broken hinge, vendor offered a fix
On arrival the unit's lid wasn't square or in the foam packaging. The plastic is snapped in half and it does not seal.Contacted the vendor and they offered an acceptable fix.Using the fridge on the daily, works great. Only complaint besides the hinge is no F setting. But it has a lot of storage for the price and size.

Seems well built
I have only had this for a couple of weeks and haven't traveled with it yet. I am taking to Mexico for 5 months in my camper to use as a freezer. I have a 12v battery with a 100w solar panel. I have tested it and it takes about a half hour to get from room temperature (70*F) to 0*F. It being made in China, the owners manual leaves a little unexplained. It does seem well built and insulated. I did not give it 5 stars because I haven't used it on the road. If after my trip things go as they should, I will give it the appropriate rating.

Very good for the price!
Nice cooler works well, plastic a bit cheap and brittle. Temp control on the money uses more battery than anticipated. For the money it’s a nice unit. I opened the case to properly tie wrap some rattle points and tighten screws been working perfectly since

Convenient
This little car refrigerator is more than expected. It’s been in my 4 door pickup for a week now. Fits perfectly on the back seat center floor making it easy to reach from the front seat. My truck sat in the hot Florida sun for three days without being started and the little frig was ice cold and the battery still had plenty of power to start the truck. I love this thing. No more stopping in gas stations and paying $1.25 for a cold bottled water.Highly recommend
