Great Poncho, Snaps A Problem.
The poncho material is highly waterproof and has enough material front and back to adequately protect you. The plastic snaps seem to be a problem that can be solved with a finish nail and a lighter. In the middle of both sides of the snap is a stem that holds the plastic parts together. In production this stem should have been melted and pushed down out of the way. As it is the stem from each side hits the opposing side's stem and prevents the snap from joining. If you take a small finish nail, a Bic lighter and some needle nose pliers, hold the nail in the pliers with the nob head of the nail an inch from the pliers, heat the head of the nail then push down gently on the stem to melt the stem down. Do this on both side and the snap will be able to close. Just be careful in doing this. It's a great poncho and should last a long time.

Compresses quite small and comes with a stuff sack for easy storage and transport
Reasonably durable material, especially given how lightweight it is. Compresses quite small and comes with a stuff sack for easy storage and transport. Very good for hot, humid, rainy days when you don't want to become drenched in sweat while staying dry. If used for a ground cloth, clear the ground of stones, twigs and anything that could puncture the material under your weight. I would recommend this as a well-designed, well-made lightweight poncho. I have a large head and the hood is snug, but not uncomfortable. The wind certainly won't take it off. Also, you will be visible in a car's headlights at night.

Not GI But It Works Well
This attempts to imitate GI (General Issue), but it doesn't advertise as such. The statement is just to let you know. That being said, it works pretty well. It is lightweight and does have the "ripstop" fibers in the material. The camo pattern is what I expected (and is as pictured). The grommets are a little small, but serviceable - I can get paracord through them. It keeps the rain off and retains heat as it should. The camo pouch that comes with it was unexpected, but a nice add-on. Not going to be used for the poncho (got the rubber bands for that), but useful to hold other camp gear.Overall I'm happy with it.

Recommended for walking/standing in the rain.
For the price its pretty decent. It's thick enough that it holds up, not a one time use, and it's big enough that I used it to cover a stroller. It says you can use it as a tent, more like a sheet to keep rain off of stuff. It feels as thick as a 4mil plastic sheet. It comes in a pouch so you can fold it back up for the next time after you dry it. I would recommend this for going out for a stroll at a theme park or hike. Not for rigorous work or activities. Lightweight but won't tear easily.

Good quality
If you need rain gear that can double as a shelter, this is for you. It might be short though. I'm 6 foot 1 inch and it stops at my knees and elbows. I used this for an "Overseer" costume (from the movie "Glass") and needed TWO of them to make it work right, and fortunately my wife knows how to sew. She took the bottom off of the second item to make the cape longer, took from the sides to make the sleeves longer, and made a gorget out of the neck of the second item after removing the hood. It looks great, but it's not going to work as a costume out of the package if you like "screen accuracy."

Better than umbrellas or raincoats.
Forget umbrellas that only work if the rain falls straight down, and get destroyed by the first strong wind. Slip this over whatever outfit your wearing. Your hands are free, you can wear whatever coat you choose (or not). Plus, when the rain stops you just take it off and it folds into a tiny parcel you can stick into your briefcase or backpack. Not made from cheap plastic. It's some type of lightweight cloth that sheds water like magic. I love this thing.

Buy This One!
I love this poncho! It is light weight but very sturdy. It has many uses (tent) that I will probably never need, but I have already gotten my money's worth out of it. I have even recommended it to friends. So much easier to manage than an umbrella when you need to keep your hands free.
