You don't need this. I don't need this. It's racing stripes for our camera. It's flair. But it's GORGEOUS! It's affordable, and it fits like a glove.Its functional (I own one of these from the same company for my Canon EOS M10, and I initially gave the other grip/case two stars, but upgraded it to a solid three. And then when I saw this was half the price pulled the trigger and couldn't be happier with it!I usually have the battery grip on my EOS R (and no you can't use this and the battery grip, but if they figured out how to conform leather around that many angles I'd probably pay 5x as much for this quality of a leather grip for the EOS R with the BG E-22!) because I have big hands. And it feels small without it. But this adds just an ever so slightly better grip for my mitts to hold it. It's slight but it's far better for me. So if you have smaller hands keep in mind this will feel ever so chunkier.It's snazzy. I swapped batteries with no problem. It fits perfectly. And it's (at the time of this writing) dirt cheap!Oh and I don't fault all the other people that were mad writing reviews about it not fitting the Rp R5 or R6 because the company doesn't write good copy for the items they sell. The first MegaGear item I bought was the M10 cover/grip and I was mad they omitted information and showed a different strap.But the functionality and style won me over and I took the chance on this and am wholly pleased with *this* EOS R grip!

as others have mentioned, this is essentially a fashion item -- it probably won't do a whole lot to protect your camera unless you drop it at a very specific angle. but it is a nice fashion item! i have gotten many many compliments on it + it still looks good after a year of a fair bit of use. strap seems sturdy enough and isn't uncomfortable. sd card, battery, and ports are easily accessible, and it doesn't get in the way of moving the screen at all. i don't really use a tripod much but it screws into my mini tripod just fine and seems stable. and as far as I can tell, the leather is real, not that it really matters to me. i think most of the negative reviews are just people buying it for the wrong camera models -- this is only going to fit the R and the Ra.

Honestly, this case looks super cool and adds a fantastic look to a camera but it doesn't fit properly. If anyone can show me how this thing fits onto the EOS R5 then I would love to know. As one previous reviewer mentioned, the bottom screw does not line up at all with the thread on the camera base. Not impressed.

Leather is expensive, especially the real stuff. My expectations were somewhat lower when ordering this product at this price but I'm very pleased with the quality. I've used this on my Canon EOS R daily for about three weeks and so far the stitching and surface look great. The bottom has an internal steel plate for support/durability, covered on the bottom by more leather. The liner is some sort of a soft-velvety material which has not worn-on or marked the surface of my camera at all. The battery compartment door works very well. The screw which holds it in place at the tripod mount works well too, just as advertised. It still allows for a tripod mount or other accessories like my handle grip as shown in the picture attached. My only criticism is in the neck strap which is included in the order. It has a bit of the same good leather but is mostly cheap, thin and very short. That said I didn't know it was included so I viewed it as a freebie anyway. Overall very good product which looks, feels, and even smells amazing. I would have paid much more now that I've seen it.

Great accessory for the EOS R! Adds a really nice texture and grip to the camera for extra holding ability without having to add a huge battery grip. Super comfy! Also, it looks really upscale and nice! Definitely a recommendation.
