BLACKHAWK Serpa Sportster Holster

This is my second Blackhawk paddle holster. I bought one for my HK-vp9 and I was so impressed by the fit and function of this design that I bought this one to fit my Sig P227. This one is the same. The gun fits in great. There’s a screw to fine tune how tightly it holds the gun so you can dial it in to where it won’t move or rattle in the holster. The paddle is wide and stable. The locking mechanism works so well you don’t even have to think about it. Slide the pistol in and you hear and feel a “click”. That gun is not coming out unless you want it to. It locks up securely and the release button is ergonomic and the spring is just right. I already told all my people to get this holster. Now you go get it. It’s solid. And for the price it’s a no brainer.

This is by far the most comfortable holster I have ever used. I own quite a number of holsters including custom leather holsters from a company out of New Hampshire called Mitch Rosen gun leather, as well as others such as crossbreed, bianchi, and Safariland. I own both outside the waistband, and inside the waistband holsters but this Black Hawk paddle holster is by far the most comfortable one that I have ever owned!The problem with most inside the waistband holsters is that it takes up too much of your waistline creating a tight fit on your pants which leads to discomfort and stomach cramping when sitting down for long periods of time. I also own leather outside the waistband holsters that attach strictly to the belt and the problem with those is that because of the method of attachment to only the belt they inevitably always cause your belt and pants to sag on that side of your body which becomes aggravating.This Black Hawk paddle style holster is the best of both worlds because you get the comfort of carrying outside the waistband but the paddle provides support and comfort for carrying for long periods of time and distributes the weight not allowing the pants to sag, while also not taking up any additional waistline in your pants. Not to mention the synthetic holster is much more durable than any leather holster will be. This holster also has the added benefit of being a level-2 retention which will give you the added protection of not allowing someone to simply come up behind you and yank your gun from the holster.

If you're not an experienced firearm user with training and discipline plenty of range time please do not let this be your first level2 retention holderholster return it and get something else. If you are experienced practice your draw a couple of thousand times before using what a loaded handgun. It is a great holster let your retention release button is right over your trigger once you get it used to it your trigger finger will rest above the trigger on the slide where it should be. But if you press too hard your trigger finger will go into your trigger guard and you May have an accidental discharge.

I've always worn BH holster's and the paddle's are always comfortable. I own five of them for different weapon platforms and ALL of them have performed flawlessly! This holster comes in grey with the paddle color in black. Very convenient as this fits my Sig 226 .40 and my 229 9mm Legion. Both fit very comfortably and the ease of drawing is very smooth and consistent. Just know, this holster is NOT for duty status. It is intended for civilian use. For those looking for added security of someone coming behind you and drawing your weapon, it is not a level 3 holster. This is a level 2 and now a days most people know how to draw off of these holster platforms. Just have the situational awareness of that and you'll be fine.

This holster works as advertised. Once you get it adjusted, which only take a few minutes, it fits snug. It is adjustable for your belt width which helps to insure a good fit holster. Your gun is help tight until you want to draw it. This is a very good holster for the money, and probably worth more than I paid.

This product said it was made for a Sig 226 with or without a rail. IT DOES NOT FIT WIT A RAIL.

Very secure. I own several of these and even ride with them on, and I ride fast.

GREAT price but, size is a little off. The size I got was 06. It fits the Sig P229 but the barrel of the gun does NOT reach the bottom of the holster like all my other Blackhawks. Pretty sure the 05 is the true size for the Sig P229.
