Works as advertised
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. It works. Did nothing fancy to increase my chance of catching him like hiding it or putting along a side wall. I have a black rat (roof rat) and their favorite food is bacon. I could hear the rat on the other side of the attic, but I figured that bacon smell is so strong that if he likes it, he will come over. Then I figured that I would put a huge piece in the trap since he would think that this is where the pot of bacon gold is. To see if he did, I put a nightvision camera to catch the action. Day 1 he went all around and never ate one piece of bacon. He was just checking it out. Day 2 the little bugger even sat on top of the trap. Once he felt comfortable he started going on a feeding frenzy on the small pieces of bacon and then he smelled the mother load. What's that smell? What's in this tunnel? You little rat bas***rd it's fate calling! Go into the light..... anyway, the alarm sounded and the light worked as well. Went up, dumped him out, reloaded it with bait and monitoring it again in case there is another one. Awesome

VITAL PESTNOMORE RODENT ZAPPER- INFORMATION AND REVIEW
IMPORTANTMy name is Paul S. Cooper. I introduced myself as an inventor and offered my services gratuitously to the owner of the PestNoMore Rodent Zapper for the research and improved development of his product. He accepted. In my opinion, their rodent zapper was ineffective for its purpose. It did however appear to have great potential.I particularly liked the fact that it emitted a beeping sound and had a blinking indicator led light when tripped. They sent me a shipment of their defective returns to experiment with.MY FINDINGS: I reported the Zappers I tested to be totally ineffective with 6 volt battery input or the 6 volt AC power supply. After extensive testing with laboratory DC power supplies, I did ultimately discover that at 9 volts DC input, this Zapper works great. At 9.3-9.4 volts it self destructs the electronics. I used a ($12) 2 amp regulated 9 volt AC power supply and killed everything that went in. CAUTION: If the 9 volt DC output, 110 volt AC input power supply is not regulated the unit may not kill or may destruct the electronics. A regulated power supply maintains its precise designated output voltage under load or no load. I killed perhaps 100 rodents. Some very large rats. It even killed a rattle snake that crawled in.I reported my findings along with a number of other suggestions to the company. They expressed their gratitude and redesigned the product. They now provide a 9 volt power supply with the zapper. I do not believe however that the approximate 9 volt power supply they provide with the unit is regulated. If it is unregulated the voltage will vary.Their original power supply was an unregulated 6 volts.I tested a number of the units with a 9 volt regulated supply for 6 months continuous operation without a single failure. CAUTION: Do not use above 9 volts. It may self destruct. It is also not a 100% killer at less than 9 volts. I tested most every rodent electrocution product on the market. At 9 volts DC input this is definitely the one to purchase if you are serious about killing rodents.Over a period of the past two years, I regularly communicated with the owner of the company reporting the results of my research and experimentation. I spent an immense amount of time and considerable amount of my own money.I neither requested nor received any money from the company for my services. Initially I in fact purchased a number of the units from Amazon at the full list price. The current product redesign embodies q number of my suggestions including the 9 volt power supply. The compensation I sought, and in fact received, was the delight of helping to make an effective, electrocuting, rodent killer.I speculate that the re-branded similar appearing models on Amazon may not have the beeping sound when tripped or the 9 volt power supply? The beeping sound when tripped is a great feature.I love AmazonBest regardsPaul S. Cooper

Tired and annoyed
I purchased the Pest No More Rodent Zapper Electronic Rat Trap on July 2, 2015 and paid an extra delivery charge to fix the problem over the weekend. Total paid $101.00, so obviously I was anxious to get it done.I have not slept all weekend. The rat has set off the trap 12xs with no body. I've put wet rags in front of unit as one of the reviewers had suggested, I originally had treats that were obviously easy for him to retrieve, so I switched to peanut butter to keep him in place for awhile. Nothing!!!! He has licked it clean over and over! I have it plugged in, and I have batteries too! I feel like I'm providing just a snack shack for this thing! I'm at the end of my rope! I read all the reviews before I made the purchase, and chose this one, even though it was more expensive than the others. Worse was that the "help" email address provided in the instructions doesn't exist. So looks like my next transaction will be contacting amazon to return this thing!!!

RATS NOT HAPPY
I almost sent the unit back. On NEW batteries it allowed the rat to enter and eat the bait and leave. I was ticked off thinking another waste of time and money. Printed the return labels and thought I would try it plugged in. The reason I did not use the power supply the first time is that I did not want to feed the rats anymore of my wired devices. The first night plugged in it killed a good size rat. Then nothing for a few days. I checked the unit and the battery door fell open dropping the batteries and blocking the entrance. After resetting this, it has killed four more. I am using Milk Bone dog treats crushed up. Enough to fill the tray inside and a sprinkling of well crushed particles outside the entrance and on top. Other words spend the money on the on the plug in unit. My other battery units at a lower cost did not kill them either and they went back. I would also recommend looming your power supply if the rats are aggressive on wires. After each kill I wipe the entire inside with rubbing alcohol and this seems to work very well. I wet the rag with it. Expect those nice new shiny plates to stain somehow but it does not seem to affect the performance. SUMMARY IT DOES WORK ON AC ADAPTER.
