I used this for temp power while building a barn. As others have noted it is weather resistant not waterproof; it performed ok during several rains. I have two complaints. 1- the knockouts for cable penetration were over welded, requiring a Dremel to cut. This is simply poor quality control.2- the GFCI outlet was faulty; it would not reset. Of course I didn't discover this until the box was mounted and wired; I should have returned it but that would have led to delays I didn't need.

GFCI outlet was faulty. Had to buy a replacement locally and install in box. Door will not close all the way even with just a basic three prong plug. The box is good quality though.

This is good quality box. My only issue is the door is not deep enough. I am using this for my sewage pump and have to plug the pump into the float and then into the outlet. The door will not close all the way. Other than that it is solid.

The GE backyard outlet is a great heavy duty GFI outlet box that does a great job at protecting your outlet from the weather. I have this particular outlet for an outdoor fountain and it works very well. Just make sure you seal the screw hole areas with waterproof silicone and you should have no problems. The problem here is that at 55 dollars, this is too expensive here and you can find this cheaper at the box stores.
