All Doubts Removed
After years of owning a 4 inch jointer, I finally upgraded to an 8 inch jointer. I was used to setting the short 4 inch blades, but the eight inch blades were just not cooperating with my height gauge. I purchased this unit, made sure I put the right marks in place at top dead center, and I swear, was done in about twenty minutes. This jig really does work.

Brought My Jointer Back to Life
I have a Ridgid Jointer who's blades were beyond repair. I ordered a pair of blades along with the Rockler Magnetic Jointer Jig. The setup was really straight forward. Simply find the high point of the blades and scribe a line on your jointer. Instead of using an Awl to scratch a line into my jointer, I just used a piece of blue tape and used a pencil. I just didn't want to but in a scratch in my jointer. Once you find the center point, take out your old knives and clean out any debris where the old jointer knives sat and install your new knives. I snugged up just enough for their to still be some play so the blades would still be caught by the magnet in the Jointer Jig. Adjust the Jointer line with the line you made on your blue tape and then make another line (you can use the same blue tape method) that matches up with the back line on the Jointer Jig (this second line is purely a way to make sure you are dead accurate with your first line). You'll notice the magnets catch and lift the blades to the high point. It's important that when you start to snug up the blades that you don't accidentally move the blades or the jig. The magnet should keep that from happening, but depending on the tool you're using to snug up the blades, it is possible to accidentally move the Jointer Jig. Just verify the jointer lines are matched with the lines you made. When finished, I took a piece of dead flat wood and placed it on the out feed side of the table and rotated the blades till they made contact with the wood at it's highest point. The blades barley (and I mean barely) pulled the wood which is what you're trying to go for. Rinse and repeat two more times. As a tip so you don't forget which ones you've set, I made a small mark with a sharpie as I was installing them - in case I wanted to made some fine adjustments.

Seems like a good tool, but no instructions
I received it this afternoon, and I haven't tried it yet. I'm sure it works. But no instructions are sent with the jig. I basically know how I am going to use it. I know how to find TDC. I know how to raise and lower the knives and how to lock them in place. And I can't think of any other way to do it than loosen the knives, place the magnet directly above the knives, ensure that the knives are lifted into place and then locking down the knives. But clear instructions would be nice.On the box, it says "Scribed lines help align cutter head." That's nice too. What would be nicer is if there were instructions to show me how to do that.My toothpaste has more instructions.Nonetheless, it seems to be a solid tool, and I'm sure I will get my jointer aligned despite the lack of instructions.

Exceptional jointer knife jig
I used to spend about two to three hours setting the knives on my jointer. Yesterday, it took all of 12 minutes to set them with my new magnetic jig from Rockler. This jig is all steel. I purchased a jig in the past that was partly made of plastic and sent it back after setting the knives. They were not parallel to the outfeed table. After adjusting the knives with this jig, I tested it. The edge of the board I tested was perfectly straight and square. Thanks again to Amazon and Rockler for selling such outstanding products.

Makes for quick setup of new knives in a jointer.
Read the instructions thoroughly before starting the process. I used a piece of painter's tape to mark lines on the jointer's bed and face. As a former wood shop teacher, I've used a couple of different jigs to set jointer knives. This jig is one of the easier ones to use.

Game changer. Got my jointer blades set in just a few minutes.
This takes all the frustration and guesswork out of setting jointer blades. It's worth the money just in how much time you'll save.I have an old Craftsman jointer and this also helps to check the infeed table is parallel.

Perfect
Perfect for aligning my jointer blades on 2 different units. Easy to use and instructions are pretty straight forward.

It's okay
In the past I would use a dial indicator to adjust my blades with marginal results and many hours of adjustments. With this thing adjustments are very quick, but results are still marginal. So either way I am getting marginal results, but I am saving myself a lot of time. If you are good at precision machine adjustments and want super precise results then this is not for you. If you are satisfied with a 3 to 4 thousandths deviation then this is quick and works to that point. Just to clarify I am a complete amateur and don't have the patience for precision adjustments, so this is good enough for me.
