Shiba Inus Paperback – November 1, 2012

I will be bringing home my first Shiba Inu this coming June, so I wanted some breed-specific information since they're not a super common type of dog in my area. This book gives a great overview of the breed and how to best approach training for a stubborn and intelligent dog like the Shiba. Great purchase for $9!

SHIBA INU MANUEL FOR DUMMIESI really liked this book, because it really simplifies everything about owning, raising, and finding a Shiba Inu.I recommend this book myself, my Baby Shiba is 14 years old and he still looks great, they love attention.I was told if there was one word a Shiba could say it would be: "Mine". "mine, mine, mine, mine, mine......"They look at everything around them as theirs.

Well written (i found only 2 typos) with lots of general information, mostly breed specific (however there was some misinformation about the origin of the breed). The really important topics such as diet and food, grooming techniques, coat care, trimming nails, recommended products, products and brands to avoid, etc.. are painfully brief or not covered. Overall, a good book to read and have on hand if you are a new Shiba owner, especially if you have a puppy.

Great book! This book gave you history on the Shiba Inu and touched all bases on how to care for your dog. I took many notes from this book and will definitely refer back to it when I receive my Shiba next month.The display of the book was also very good. The reading was easy and the images were gorgeous.

This book gives good information to help you become a excellent shiba owner. It will be easy to refer back for training process and learning commands.

We got a rescue Shiba and needed a book to tell us all about the breed and this book is it. It has LOTS of great info and tips and really educated us on our new addition to the family. I would recommend this book to anyone new to the Shiba breed. Great pictures also!

Love the content of the book. However, there’re a few pages with bad printing job, making it hard to read.

We've owned and been showing shiba inus for fifteen years now, and can appriciate the quality of Payton's book. It's very well written and formated, up-to-date with this 2013 edition and comprehensive yet easy to use. If you're considering getting a shiba or already have one you should have a copy of this excellent book.

I really like to read, the information was clear and we explained. I had fun at some part because she described so well my lil shiba xD. This book is worth re reading.

Excelente libro

This is a really good overall book, especially for a first-time dog owner...includes a lot of essential breeder and pedigree info to help with selecting the right puppy.

Metto 5 stelle perché lo trovo un libro assolutamente ricco di informazioni e curiosità per chi sa ben poco su questa razza e vuole sapere tutto! Diviso in sezioni, spiega le origini, il carattere, le caratteristiche fisiche del cane, spiega come scegliere l’allevatore, l’età, il sesso, come rapportarsi con il cucciolo, cosa dare da mangiare, se fare o meno attività fisica! L’unica cosa che può disturbare è la lingua, è scritto in inglese, ma comunque chi ha conoscenze basilari della lingua riesce a comprenderlo! Consigliato!

Libro muy bueno y visual, con diferentes apartados en los cuales se explica muy bien la historia, los ragos, características, cuidados,... Además, contiene un apartado para orientarte/descubrir si el Shiba Inu es un perro óptimo para ti y una "shooping list" con todo lo que necesitarías adquirir antes de traerlo a casa.
