Motorad recently purchased Stant and shut down USA production discontinuing the Stant designs alltogether. They now put Motorad thermostats of a completely different design (worse design) in the Stant Superstat packages. This is true of all Stant thermostats USA wide and it is not an Amazon thing nor is it their fault. Goodbye Stant, I will miss you. You always made the best aftermarket thermostats. Now you're just buying ordinary run-of-the-mill low end commodity aftermarket thermostats in Stant boxes.

I have a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix, and my factory thermostat after 10 years was stuck open. I live in Michigan, and with how easy this is to change out, I will use the 180F for the summer, and switch out to the 195F for the winter. It took maybe 5 minutes to change it out. If you don't know how, look it up on youtube and you'll be good to go. Also, get the gasket if you have gone a long time without checking it or cleaning your system out. It's cheap added peace of mind.In terms of how well it maintains and opens at the right temperature, it is spot on. I have an ultragauge in my car that tells me the engine and water temperature, and they sit right between 179.6F and 180.4F, which is the perfect range.

This is very unexpected and unfortunate. At least it failed open instead of closed, that's the only good thing I can say about it.This vehicle had very clean coolant and was working great till one cold morning it never heated up after 30 minutes of running. Never even reached the lowest temp bar on gauge.Amazon is dropping the ball on this by not offering a refund in spite of their automotive parts refund policy. That is, they will honor any published manufacturer warranty. Chat refused to help and just referred me to their email address for warranty concerns even after copying and pasting their refund policy for their drone robot of a human virtual assistant person.I'd be very wary of this part, not to mention my first ever mind-blowing response from Amazon in regards to their refund policy. It's not so much the money here, but a matter of principle. Look it up!!

After having a "substandard" brand thermostat that stuck open during a North Wyoming winter (the heater would not warm-up) the computer was receiving information to run in "cold mode", that burns a lot of gas-, 8-10 mpg. Stant has high quality parts, I checked this one in a pan of water w/ a thermometer- the small things on a truck way out in the backwoods are the difference between "feeling confident, or worrying what's wrong"- Many Thanks to Amazon for allowing those of us to write the reviews, so others (myself included) can save time and $$ buy taking recommendations from others who pass the "good or bad" information to all, and Thanks to all who write the reviews, to Amazon for fast shipping, good prices

Did the job, car now gets to operating temperature. The gasket is not included.

We bought this over a year ago. It has performed without any problems. It helps keep the engine temperature where it ought to be. And obviously allows the engine to warm properly. Likely to have years of trouble free use. Well made and easy to install. Really like that it came with its own gasket too.

Replaced the original thermostat on mine Lucerne 3.8. the hole is bigger then the original.It says made in USA, i hope so, as original is made in china, which is not so nice IMO.It opens on 82-84c (as i saw temperature drop on this temperature whru a scanner)
