Body-Solid OBPB25 25Lb Black Bumper Plates 17.7"

I have been quite happy with these bumper plates. I am using them to train someone new to the clean and press. They've worked like a charm. I know from past purchases that it can be difficult to get a grasp of the size of products on the site, but these are slightly (without actually measuring) smaller in diameter than your olympic 45 lb plates. This is inconsequential for me because I'm using them standalone to train an olympic move non-professionally, and they are close enough in diameter that we still get the training effect. But that may be more important to someone training more than just casually.

I was a little hesitant at first to purchase these bumper plates because people complained and said the smell is so bad, but i planned on using them in my garage so i figured i would give them a shot. In my experience, when they arrived (faster than they were scheduled) there was a strong odor of rubber. I brought them right out to the garage, opened them up, and put the boxes in the recycle bin. As soon as that box left the rubber smell went with it. Maybe i have a less sensitive nose but i am very pleased with my purchase. Good Luck!

so I'm on a tight budget, and my gym doesn't have any bumper plates at all. I'm not ready to start dl'ing with the 45's, so I ordered these.They stink to high heaven like fresh rubber.They're slimy.one of the ferrules was a really tight squeeze onto the end of the bar. I had to wrestle in on there. I hope it loosens up after a few more workouts.barring those disappointments, it is a properly sized set of bumper plates with no cracks or seams that look like they're going to split later.

They're not really holding up over time, the metal is starting to separate from the rubber in the middle, but I've had them about 2 years now and used them as actual dropped bumper plates about 200 drops from various heights.All in all, I would shell out the cash for higher quality/commercial plates if I were to buy them again.

These plates:1. Are solidly-built2. Don't smell3. Weigh the right amount4. Don't easily deform5. Perform perfectly well if dropped6. Easily slide onto and off of the barThese are the criteria for bumper plates. This product meets them all, cheaply. Worth it. Buy them, pick them up, and put them down.

Quality plates! Bought these for my garage gym and they've withstood use and abuse for almost 5 years now. I gave them 4 stars because they now have cracks running from the center ring out about 4 inches. That's to be expected though as these plates have endured thousands of drops. Recommended! Way cheaper than your run of the mill name brand plates.

I purchased these bumper plates (along with the Body Solid 45lb and 10lb pairs) back in August of 2012. When I arrived home to receive the package, the entire hallway smelled of a foul oily/rubbery smell -- right through the box. Then after opening the packages, the plates smelled so strong that I had to put them outside to air them out...hoping that the smell would go away after a few weeks. It did not. Then, I cleaned them with a mixture of Murphy's oil and Pine-sol (recommended by Cross Fit) with very little luck. Now, over 6 months later I have them in a rubber tote-bin and the smell is nearly as strong as the day I bought them.The usage of the plates is actually quite good, but after about 15 minutes of being out of the bin, I have a headache from the smell.I'm very disappointed with this product and would not recommend purchasing.

I love these bumper plates. They have an oil smell when you first get them but it wares off pretty quick. A little soap and water makes it go away faster. I assume it is the lube that keeps them from sticking to the machine that makes them. Other than that they are great.
