A good slow release iron pill
I really like this Mason slow release iron pill and find it has really helped stabilize my iron count. It's easy to swallow and doesn't have any bad aftertaste.

Just like Slo-Fe at less than half the price!
I first bought these out of desperation when my local stores no longer had Slo-Fe in stock. I'd already tried their store brands and every single one of them upset my stomach, or worse, sent my intestines into revolt. When I saw these on Amazon.com I figured that I had nothing else to lose ... I wasn't getting the iron that I needed, so I just HAD to keep trying to find a brand that worked for me. I have to say that the price was SO reasonable (less than half of what I was paying before) that I was just certain that I was wasting my time. I figured that buying the Mason brand would, at least, be an inexpensive mistake.Boy, was I wrong! These tablets work every bit as well as the Slo-Fe did and at a fraction of the cost! No stomach upset. No problems that caused me to be stuck in the bathroom all the time. And when my doctor did my usual lab tests, my iron levels were great! I have no idea whether or not Slo-Fe ever made its way back onto the shelves, because I don't even go down that aisle any longer. Why would I pay more than twice as much when I have a great product that works just fine for me?If you have to take iron every day, you really should try Mason's Slow Release Iron ... you might find out, as I did, that you've been overpaying for way too long!

Extra Iron Needed in Menopause
I used to be anemic when I was younger during my menstrual cycles because of heavy blood loss. I stopped taking iron when I hit menopause at age 52 and I am now 54. I stayed tired, had cold hands and feet and dark cirlces under my eyes. I previously took a generic brand every now and then but would forget to take it daily. I am a busy school nurse. I read the great reviews on this product and liked that is is slow release small tablet and very affordable. Let's back up a bit, I check my blood work every year with a screening service and my levels are not real low but they are not real high, the levels are in between midrange and low. Just after taking them 2 days, my dark circles have almost disappeared and I feel less tired. I put these on auto ship for now. My sister eyes look like my used to, so I will give her a 2 week supply trial. They came in like 2 days! Thanks!!!

The one brand that does not upset my stomach
I've tried several other slow-release iron supplements and they all give me heartburn, even when taken with a glass of orange juice. (The natural source of Vitamin C supposedly makes it easier to digest and helps your body absorb it.)This brand does not sour my stomach or give me diarrhea (I know, I'm one of the few who gets diarrhea, not constipation, from iron supplements). I took this for a while several months ago and didn't feel any upset. I bought a cheaper brand at my grocery store and had an upset stomach every time I took the other brand. I recently resumed taking this one and have had no stomach issues.

Great for iron deficiency
My doc prescribed me slow release FE because I guess it has fewer side effects in the gastric area (if you know what I mean).I didn't have any problems after taking these, so I assume the pills did their job. I will be heading back to the doctor to see if I am no longer iron deficient. This will be the true test as to whether these pills worked. Therefore, I'm only giving this 4 stars. If all goes well with the visit, I'll bump it up.Update: The blood test revealed my iron levels to be normal! 5 stars. Remember, take iron with vitamin C for the best absorption and never takeout with calcium which hinders absorption....2 separate doctors told me that and I followed it to the T.

Easy on My Digestive System!
I was recently diagnosed with anemia and my doctor prescribed 2-3 iron supplements daily to bring up my extremely low ferritin levels. I was told to use a popular slow release iron supplement, only to find out that it's not on the market presently. I found Mason Slow Release Iron and decided to try it. I was impressed with the lack of artificial coloring and the price was reasonable. I've taken this supplement for about a month and I have noticed very little to no gastric issues. Of course, I wouldn't recommend taking this supplement without a doctor's supervision as too much iron can adversely affect your health. But for those who have been directed by a physician to take an iron supplement, I would highly recommend this supplement!

Good price
These were not as right for me so I passed on to a family member who has used this brand successfully for years.
