Initially I wished it were larger and covered more of his leg. After about a month, I raised my rating from four to five stars. I have started affixing the Velcro tighter above and below the hock (what looks like our elbow) and it works much better. His hock had started bending the wrong way. Using this I have been able to train it to bend slightly the correct way. And I believe it adds to stability and relieves some of his leg pain. I just bought a second one. I keep it on him from the time he gets up until the time he goes to bed. It seems to have helped him walk further too. I do adjust/tighten it a couple it times a day. But small price to pay for the improvement of the quality of his life.

I have a 3 lb chihuahua so finding anything to fit her is nearly impossible this not only is small enough for her but has helped her tremendously

When I received my order of Agon Canine rear hock brace I thought there was a mistake. I thought it was a pair of them for $19.99. I was going to call and send it back. I went back to my computer to check the other hind hock braces and there seemed to be problems with them not standing up to time. The one I had seemed to be made strong, so instead of sending it back, I ordered a second one. $40. was a lot of money for me to spend, but these help my dogs and they still work really good even the velcro. My dog has had them since June 13th and he is happy with them on. I take them off when he goes to bed. Rex smiles when I put them on him. It's a very good product.

This brace is simple, effective and affordable. Our dog started putting her foot on the ground instead or walking on her tiptoe for a partially torn ACL. It stays on all day and is well constructed with heavy duty Velcro. Easy on in the morning and easy off at night, which is helpful as she will most likely have to wear it for a number of months a ligaments take time to heal. Very happy with item and recommend to others.FOLLOWUP: The leg brace along with anti-inflammatories from the vet did heal our dog. After about 3-months the Velcro would no longer stick and the brace would fall off the dog's leg however, it did last long enough to heal the dog. Occasionally, when she plays with the other dog she will start to tiptoe again and we will use the brace again for a week or so till she is OK. Because the brace is so reasonable, we purchased a second brace to use when needed. I would highly recommend this product.

Purchased these for my older dog whose hind end is starting to drop as her hind legs aren't as strong anymore to support her. These wraps are good hock support and she tolerates them easily, as though they weren't even in place. I have put them through the washer/dryer with no ill effects...just be sure to have the velcro tabs in place so no lint gets caught on exposed teeth. To get a good snug fit, it might be preferable to have velcro straps that have to first be passed through a hard plastic loop before being set in position so as to get a more accurate fit (akin to those on equine brushing boots). As mentioned in the title, my only criticism is that the velcro is so tight once it's on/in position that it's really hard to loosen/open it up when you need to take them off. My dog has only worn these a few times so far, and never for more than several hours at a time, but right now I don't see any irritation to her skin from having direct contact with the material. There are no rough edges, so that certainly helps.

I ordered this for my 77 pound Labradoodle after she tore the ligament in her hock. She’s been hobbling around on 3 legs while we wait for a surgery consult.These are only soft foam with short bits of Velcro. No support whatsoever.

My English Springer Spaniel is extremely active in spite of a diagnosis of chondritis of her back right leg hock, which is equivalent to our ankle. The pain doesn't stop her so by the end of the day, she is unable to weight bear at all on that leg or paw. It makes me so sad.The vet offered no suggestions, so I tried this brace. She weighs 50 pounds so I bought the medium size and the velcro adjusts perfectly to fit her. I was worried that she would chew it off in about a minute because, at one and a half years old, she is still a heavy chewer. We put it on while giving her a treat and she completely ignored it! It is easy to apply, stays in place and she is now wearing it all day and then we take it off at night. It is now part of her daily routine: collar on, brace on, breakfast and GO!Every day is an active day for Poppy HRC McCrae and most days she no longer limps! I am pretty sure this little brace is what is helping her be her best athletic self and have less pain by end of day. She is not self-conscious at all about wearing an ankle brace to the park because the other dogs just think she is a jock.I will likely buy another one to have a back up; I don't want her to be without it anymore.I am sorry for my pup that it took me so long to figure this out. I have purchased 6 of these braces in the past. I ordered 2 large size recently and recieved 2 mediums. I like the braces and they work well. except the velcro is too short and wears out fast.

This brace is excellent quality! It shipped within reasonable time to Canada from the states. The company has amazing customer service! I asked multiple questions to them and every time got a speedy and informative answer! I highly recommend them and the product!

I purchased this brace at the end of May for my dog who ruptured her left hind cruciate ligament. The vet said he would not operate (only way to fix according to him) as she is too old (17 years). This brace has performed miracles! Before this brace she limped, could not walk up and down stairs and would fall flat on her little face. After five weeks she can now run, walks up and down 3-4 stairs and is constantly trying to do the things she did before her injury. She is now a happy old girl who still thinks she's a puppy. I highly recommend this brace-worth its weight in gold!
