Too small for large or long cats
These are expensive wall-mounted "verticals" for cats that we'd hoped would be a hit with our clan. Not a single cat has used them--we mounted two adjacent to sturdy 78-inch cat towers they use all the time. When we placed each cat in them, the dip seemed to be too deep for them to get comfortable in once they settled down. Not a one would voluntarily jump into these "saddles," so we're not sure if floating verticals are the issue (they're more comfortable on ground-based towers) or it's just these particular verticals. On the plus side, if dark wood is part of your decor, these look nice when mounted and the removable carpets are washable, which is a big plus for the inevitable cat hair. The holes aren't quite 16-inch-on-center for standard residential home studs--more like 14.5-inch on center--but the shelves are stable in dry-wall as long as you use dry-wall anchors with the screws. Given woodworking expertise, we substituted better anchors than the ones provided as the first two cracked during installation. With better anchors, the shelves don't wiggle at all even though only one side is fully in a stud. Another plus is that these items arrived well-packaged--no damage. After much online research, these seemed to be the sturdiest options out there for the price, but we'd like to try and design/build bigger, beefier verticals to give our feline kids the height they crave.

ONLY GOOD FOR WHAT IT IS DESIGNED FOR
I have owned these shelves for over a year. Cat can hop from one to the next with ease. She loves sleeping high up on the top one. HOWEVER, one time she was jumping from the top shelf to the next one and she must have been half asleep...as she missed the second shelf and fell backwards onto the third shelf...which broke off the wall and fell to the floor...(the cat twisted in the descent and landed on a chair - a very bouncy chair that propelled her into the air and she hit her chin on the table next to the chair!!!) It was like watching the flying luendas....She is OK and still climbs up so she is not traumatized. I am going to insert an additional shelf inbetween the top shelf and the first one so there is no jumping...only walking. Love this instead of one of those horrible carpet covered cat tower...this is very artistic and catifies your home without disturbing anyones sense of style.

Satisfactory
In our new home, the family room is not large enough for the freestanding cat tree we previously used. These cat "shelves" were less expensive than many I looked at. One of our cats chooses to sleep on them occasionally. The other will jump on to them to look around, but doesn't seem to like them as well. They are new, though, so I have hopes he'll accept them over time. The good: They are nicely built. The replaceable "carpet" is a nice-to-have feature. Installation was easy, though I'd have preferred if the outer two holes were 16" apart so I could screw to wall studs. The not-as-good: it's not possible to attach the shelf to more than one wall stud - I'm concerned that hollow wall anchors will pull loose over time with our 16 pound cat jumping up and down. (no sign of that yet) The velcro that holds the carpet down was not evenly distributed, but was easy to adjust.

Great cat wall perch-- ideal for all adventurous kitties!
We have a plethora of cat toys and investments in our household. From the cat wheel to cat shelves-- we have tried it all. When I noticed this cat wall perch on Amazon, the first thing that caught my eye was the ability to replace the surface (the scratching pads) with new pads. My cats have been known to vomit occasionally on their shelves so this really was a perk as it would ensure my cat perch would stay clean, but also continue to appear new. When the cat perch arrived-- I was impressed with the mounting hardware included. Now-- I know, that seems like a silly thing to mention, but we have ordered numerous wall shelves for cats and they arrived with flimsy anchors and the mounting hardware was not safe for cats over 10 pounds. My cats average 14-16 pounds and are very active (they are Savannahs) so I need to ensure they are safe regardless of how pretty a wall perch may appear. As soon as we put up the perch, the cats were on it and checking it out. I love the look of the perch-- it is glossy and high quality. My cats love the perch because they feel safe and they can survey their kingdom from on high. Definitely a great purchase for a multicat household. Would highly recommend to any cat owner.

Cat perch is great, contacting company is impossible
Perch is well constructed, easy to mount, comes with extra carpet pads which is a nice bonus since my kitty loves to scratch everything (giving her lots of scratching opportunities so i don't have to buy new furniture).Problem i have is with the company itself. They included a 20% off coupon in the box, and i really wanted to buy a second one; followed the link to redeem - ended up at product tester page. Called several times for help, went to voicemail, left msg - no callback; opened several support tix - no response. What happens if i have a product issue? Ignore customer, as usual? Seems like a shady company that does not honor its offers. Obviously, i will not be buying from them again. Art of Paws has similar shelves, hopefully they have a Customer Service department!

Pretty design and supports even big cats!
Snowbelle loves her new shelf!Snowbelle is an 8-year-old indoor kitty. She really likes to look outside, but she kept climbing on top of our tables and scratching our furniture in order to do so. I thought that a perch would be a great solution, but I wanted to make sure that I found one that was attractive and high-quality.I was afraid that she would ignore the shelf for a few days -- that's just how cats are -- but I sprinkled a little bit of catnip on it, and she began using it the same day we put the shelf up. The shelf is of great quality and my fiance installed without any issues - the shelf comes with the screws you need.Even though Snowbelle is a fairly big girl (about 10 lbs), the shelf holds her easily. We are so happy that she no longer needs to claw our furniture to look outside - and she loves her new "special place." I think it would be fun to order more and stagger them up a wall so that she can climb! Make sure that you place the shelf at a level that your cat can reach, and she'll love it!
