Strange at first, but you'll get used to them.
Basically the strangeness is when you realize that your body is semi-supported by a really big rubber band, which you can hear stretching beside your head as your drop into position. If you're heavy, like I am (290lbs) it might sound unnerving at first, but it subsides after a few good sets. They seem very stable and I am not worried about injury.Initially I thought that it would make my start a bit wobbly, but using an under-knee position, I find that it's actually quite stable and allows for clean movement in pull-ups. The only awkward bit is when you start out. You should have a sturdy chair to stand on, so that you can raise your leg up, then you want to hook it on your knee and move forward and rotate down to a straight hip position. I also lock my foot behind my other knee to anchor the position of the band, so that it's locked into position throughout the set.As you do your reps, the tension seems uniformly distributed throughout the range of motion and on each arm, so you don't feel a point where you have to struggle too hard at one point or another. I was able to count 2 seconds up and 2 seconds down to get both concentric and eccentric time under tension. If you need all three bands (which I currently do at the start), under my knee I'm looking at about 120lbs of assistance, which is quite enough to get me started on my goals. (I still have to pull 170lbs through the motion.)I picked this set because it is comparably the best dollar to progression value I could find. I've seen single bands that were as much as this set, but once I got past them in progression I would need more money to buy more bands to make progress. (Unless I miraculously lost 120lbs in a day or added weight, which seems silly.) You can use these bands to cycle down and hopefully after you only use the black band for assistance, you'll be ready to go without them. These can also be used for push up resistance, as well as rotational resistance if you have somewhere to anchor them. You can likely also use them for rowing exercises, as well as squats, and for resistance for abs. I'm mainly using them for pull-ups, but may find other uses later. For their dollar value and versatility, it's hard to beat them.

Multi-use bands work perfectly for what they are intended
For a while now, I've faced the frustration of not being able to do standard bodyweight pull-ups, and instead went to seek alternative methods of gaining strength to be able to do so, but only in vain. Assisted pull-up machines and lat pull-down machines do strengthen the muscles used in pull-ups, but they do not mimic the same range of motion, nor use the same stabilizing muscles as pull-ups, and so are a weak substitute. After much research, I decided for myself that resistance bands were the best option for gaining strength towards helping me achieve my first pull-up. I decided to purchase this set of three, and quickly found out that the largest band gave too much assistance, much to my satisfaction. I actually expected myself to need more help than I actually did. So now, for the past week or two, I've been using the second size band (the purple) to do my pull-ups, in a 5x5 routine, which becomes easier every time I do it. I also tried the black band using neutral grip pull-ups, but I got a little bit ahead of myself by attempting a 4x8, only to find that I worked my muscles to exhaustion quickly. Overall, the quality of the rubber gets an A+, as it's as flexible as it needs to be, but also extremely sturdy, so that I have no fear of them snapping while in use. They work exactly as advertised, are a great tool in developing strength, and on top of it all, I got them on the second day after ordering, much faster than expected. Great product from a great seller, worth every bit of the five stars.

Good bands
Perfect addition to my personal gym. Second set of bands with great durability while being used as a squat rack attachment to do pullups, push ups and explosive burgers with additional resistance.

Great, but I need guidance
My coworker- who was and continues to be an inspiring body builder in her spare time, recommended these for me as a beginner, as I was hesitant to buy a whole set of dumb bells. I would say a month in, I think they need to come with instruction. She assumed that as a massage therapist I would just easily use them as I know how all the muscles work— but as a TOTAL beginner in strength training it feels awkard and like I have no idea how to work them- hahahaha. I probably would have preferred getting the dumb bell set even though it was a bit more money. That being said- I have hung them on my pull-up bar which makes it super fun for me and my kids(who can’t do a regular pull-up) to practice doing pull-ups!They are likely a great addition strength workouts, but I personally will try to find some sort of instructions to guide me on how to use properly as it doesn’t seem obvious how to use them.

Perfect for building pull-up strength over time
I love these bands for assisted pull-ups, and a multipack set like this saves you a lot of money. I weigh 115lbs and could only do 1 unassisted pull-up prior to purchasing these bands. After three weeks of using a combination of the black and red bands (together) to perform sets of 15 assisted pull-ups, I can now do 4-5 unassisted at a time. I'm moving down to just using the black bands for my assisted set, then when I can easily pump out 15 with that band, will move down to the red, then the orange.I purchased this brand because (1) the price was much lower than each individually and (2) I had seen lots of reviews for other brands that reported snapping of the bands. These are very sturdy, and I don't worry about them popping, even at maximum stretch. Like any rubber product, you will want to stretch them regularly to prevent dry rot that will lead to premature snapping.I also pack these with me when I travel to mix into my workouts when a gym has limited equipment - the options for adding tension to body weight lunges, squats, and pushups are endless!

Quality very high. So far seem very durable.
Skeptical of the quality of these bands. I have always been a Bodylastics resistance band user. Still am. These bands are super thick. Multiple layers for added safety and easy to take anywhere and use. Recommended. Only wish the next combo set with stronger bands did not include the black band or I would purchase that as well.

Poor quality
I am a Physiotherapist and I have purchased these bands to work with my elderly clients, after several uses the bands actually snapped, fortunately my clients were not injured but I did not expect these bands to break so easily, this is a huge safety concern for anyone
