Excellent audio production 👏. If you have seen the video online you know what to expect and that is what brought you here. The vinyl edition sounds amazing on a good system and brings the live factor into the room. I highly recommend this one.

An album worth having.

I found Heilung's video of Lifa (recorded live at Castlefest 2017) on YouTube and was fascinated from the first. The drumming reminded me of Native Americans; these people are Danish!! The more I watched and listened; I recalled Stravinsky's Rite of Spring and Nijinsky's choerography for it; Heilung touched me as an authentic "prehistoric" gathering - updated for the present - Wow - Thrilling. The lead male vocalist is similar in style to Nivek Ogre of Skinny Puppy and the female vocalist is similar in style to Lisa Gerrard of Dead Can Dance (who could ask for more in a duo!!). As I watched more and more of the video I was entranced by the entire prodiction: the vocals, drums, ambient sounds, regalia, and lighting - all exceptional. The production value on this recording of the Castlefest event is outstanding; you can hear so many levels of sound - it is truly sonically riveting and stunning. Predominantly drumming, the rhythms are ever changing, subtle, and overpowering - what a group of drummers!!. I found myself throughly uplifted by the end of the performance. Truly Heilung Lifa (Healing Light) lives up to its name! I hope they release the DVD soon - I want a copy! If you want to activate your inner "prehistoric" soul (and update yourself) get this recording.

This is a recording of Heilung's first ever stage-performance at the Castlefest Festival in Belgium in 2017. For a band whose music had only been envisioned as a studio album, their first performance cemented their presence in the pagan folk scene, possibly one of the most interesting stage acts in 40 years and really defying categorization. The bands' percussive music paired with vocals sung in mostly in Old Norse, Old English and Old High German that range from growling throat-singing to ethereal siren's calls give the listener the feeling of being transported 1000 years back in time to music of an iron-age Europe. Heilung experienced live is mesmerizing but this excellent recording is the next best thing.

La edición física es muy buena, doble vinilo en gatefold, pone que es la 11ª tirada…El disco en si mismo ya lo habrás escuchado, es una experiencia en toda regla, muchísimo talento y una propuesta de lo más original… Intenta no conquistar a tus vecinos tras escucharlo.

Ich will gar nicht erst versuchen, diese Musik zu beschreiben. Hätte man sie mir beschrieben, hätte ich wahrscheinlich keinen weiteren Gedanken daran verschwendet. Ich bin zufällig über eines der Videos auf Heilungs Youtube-Kanal gestoßen und kann nur die Empfehlung geben, sich die Videos dort anzusehen und anzuhören. Man weiß dann schnell, ob man diese Musik mag oder nicht. Und ich mag sie für mich selbst überraschenderweise sehr.Etwas verwirrt war ich bezüglich der Alben und ihres Inhalts, deshalb:Lifa, ist eine Live-Aufnahme, die im wesentlichen dieselben Titel enthält wie das Studioalbum Ofnir. Die beiden Alben sind aber deswegen keineswegs austauschbar, sie haben ganz andere Stimmungen. Ofnir ist ruhiger, meditativer und man hört Geräusche, die bei Lifa untergehen oder vielleicht gar nicht gespielt wurden. Lifa ist ekstatisch, kraftvoll und die Stimmen stehen mehr im Vordergrund. Welches Album man lieber mag, hängt also davon ab, was man von dieser Musik möchte. Bei mir ist das eine Frage der momentanen Stimmung.Als jemand, der eine klassische Gesangsausbildung genossen hat, muss ich aber noch die gesangliche Qualität erwähnen. Maria Franz wird oft gelobt - zu Recht. Vor allem in der Live-Aufnahme von In Maidjan kann man hören und im Video auch sehen, wie perfekt sie ihr Instrument beherrscht. Aber auch die Männer sind bemerkenswert. Da ist alles dabei von Kehlkopfgesang und Brüllen - wunderbar gestützt, so dass man sich keine Sorgen um die Stimmen machen muss - bis hin zu melodischen Linien und kleinen Echos zu Marias Gesang, bei denen ich zunächst dachte, es sei eine Background-Sängerin. Das muss man erst einmal können und nur wenige können es tatsächlich.
