THIS BOOK IS A MUST HAVE
I am a breeder and am always learning. I bought this book and it now stays in my whelping room as a resource. There are things I knew already as well as things I have learned and will add to my whelping supplies and skills. It is well written and easy to understand. This book is my go-to book for information.

For breeders and vets
This is the single best, most comprehensive resource on canine whelping and neonates I have seen. Written for vets, but with the knowledge that serious breeders will be reading, it is informative and very useful. From charts and graphs to over-the-counter medication dosing, Dr. Greer gives us everything we need. Did I mention that Marty Greer is both a breeder and a veterinarian?

TERRIFIC BOOK
This is the most intense book I have read on breeding. I recommend it to all that are planning a litter. I would consider it to be a Bible on the subject. We had 7 new bernese mountain dogs on the 18th of December. They are doing wonderful.Grace P

A must have for every breeder
This is an excellent reference source written by a highly respected reproduction veterinarian. This is my second copy of this book. The first is a regular hardbound copy that is dovetailed and coming apart. This time I chose the spiral bound version which makes it much easier to have this open flat next to the whelping box as a much needed handy reference.

Excellent reference!
Excellent reference book, loaded with very thorough information. This book is a valuable addition to any library....breeder, owner or veterinarian/veterinary staff. The only thing I disagreed with was the blanket statement that breeders use limited registration for dogs that are not breeding quality...most breeders I know use limited to make sure appropriate health clearances are done before they will change the registration to full and allow breeding. It has little to do with the quality of the dog....just a way to make sure the lines are bred forward responsibly.
