THE best book on the Rosary since St. Louis de Montfort!--It is a MUST have.
This is THE must have been on the Rosary. I got more out of this than I ever expected to from any book not written by St. Montfort. The writing is solid, the chapters packed to the brim with information. I hardly know where to begin when singing the praises of this book.Firstly, the history chapter is thorough. In a couple of places I would have loved a date or two, but few people are going to be as picky as I am with history. I like to plot things on a timeline. This portion is well researched and well defended. It could have been its own book.Secondly, the section on Saints and Blesseds and others who have championed the Rosary is incredibly well done. Each section is a short biography. This would be useful in a home school history class, and it is worth the price of the book by itself.Third, illustrations and photographs. So many books lack something in this department, but not this book! Each person in the second part has an image for their chapter. Later in the book is a section of extant images showing the rosary in art. I doubt you could find more of these in any other book not an art book. Finally, the section on praying the Rosary. It is complete as you could wish.I thought I knew a lot about the Rosary, but this book gave me so much to chew on that I have had to add post-it tabs to mark various pages I want to be able to find more easily. I took notes! I even found the material for this book creeping into my journalling and coming to mind as I prayed.Get this book, for yourself, for your home school, for the catechist, deacon, or priest you know!

Just like the Catholic workers' revolt in Poland in 1989 with ...
I just got this book in the mail the other day, and it is definitely one-stop-shopping for everything rosary - History, method, famous people who say the rosary, and more. For those of us who have been saying the rosary for a while, it confirms what we already know - that saying the rosary every day fulfills Mary's request at Fatima in 1917 to say the rosary every day for world peace. But also, it will help us to overcome our sinful nature and to put on Christ every day. It is so much more than "vain repetition." It is meditating on the mystery of Christ in scripture. When we say the rosary, The Blessed Virgin May now has our back, and old sinful habits fall by the wayside, while strong evangelization takes their place. It's just in time for the 100th anniversary of Fatima, which occurred in October 1917, where Mary warned the world about the coming October revolution in Russia, which would spread errors throughout the world. The prime error, of course, is atheism replacing God, and the Government replacing the Church. Those errors have now come to America. Just like the Catholic workers' revolt in Poland in 1989 with its many rosaries overturned the atheist workers' revolt in Russia in 1917, just so, Americans can overturn our godless government with the rosary. This book is an excellent primer and encyclopedia on just how to do that. With the rosary, we can once again give power to the Supreme Being, and take it away from the Supreme Court. AMEN

Historically educated Catholics will find this book full of holes.
My #1 issue with this book is the upholding of Pope Alexander IV as a champion of St Dominic. Alexander the IV was the most corrupt Pope in the history of Popes!!2 I also believe that honestly addressing the issue of indulgences and its connection to Martin Luther would not detract from the power of Our Lady’s Rosary message. The Rosary dies out for many years in my opinion because of the lack of piety and guidance by the Popes. Anyone having a bit of knowledge of their faith knows that the Popes used money from indulgences to fund their buildings and extravagant life styles. It’s okay to understand that the Church is more than its members/rulers.3 I was put off by what I interpreted to be a supposed feud about who “ownes the rights” to the Rosary. This to me seems petty for a man of God. As Fr. Calloway so rightfully mentions in the book, the same message has been given to multiple people for the betterment of humanity. I’ve been Catholic all my life and was not aware of this unhelpful feud concerning St. Dominic’s being the rightful first receiver of the Rosary.4 In full disclosure Fr. Calloway should have addressed how the Church itself persecuted St. Theresa of Avila who was taken before the inquisition for having had parents who were Jewish converts. She was only one of several mystics who were persecuted by the Church and were extremely devout to Our Lady. Never mind the hash treatment of the children of Fatima and Bernadette of Lourdes by the Church. Our Lady supported these young souls with the help of the Rosary. The only positive thing I took from the book is wanting to read the works and histories of many of these individuals for myself versus taking Fr. Calloway’s predigested version.

The Most Amazing Book Of Our Time!
This is the most amazing book I have seen in a long time. Father Calloway has done extensive research and has brought it together magnificently. I have never seen any book have seven pages of endorsements about how wonderful this book is. That says a lot! There is extensive history on the rosary in the book from many saints. There is a whole section of Champions of the Rosary in fact twenty eight of them! These champions are from our Catholic history clear up to our time. Many are my own saint patrons! Most of the pictures in the book are are black and white but at the end of the book there are color art portraits pertaining to the rosary. These are art museum portraits.Well worth the price for the book! I recommend every Catholic family in the best interest of your family to add and read often this lovely book to your home library!

A brilliant history of the Holy Rosary
Brilliant book, an essential read to have in every Catholic home. The work that has gone into the history of the rosary is amazing. It makes you realise how essential the rosary is, especially in the modern era in which we live. Fr Donald Calloway revives the value of the rosary in this book like many saints of old, he himself is a real champion of the rosary. This book has helped me through a very difficult time in my family's life and has helped us to reach out to the blessed Virgin Mary with the knowledge that she leads us to Jesus and will intercede for us if we simply ask.

Fr Don Calloway - simply the best.
Great book for the month of May (which is traditionally dedicated to Our Blessed Mother) and also by a great priest, tremendous detail and history no wonder it took Fr Don Calloway four years to research it. Look out for his youtube via EWTN's channel link on the subject where he talks about his book to the students at Franciscan University of Steubenville in the USA

A must read. Super inspirational for daily prayer of the mighty Rosary.
As a traditional Catholic Christian I consider this a must read. Note, get a book on the Brown Scapular as well. They come from Heaven as a pair.
