Shadowline Women’s Long Lace Bodice Button Down Robe - 54” Length Robe

This is a perfect addition to my Silhouette gowns. The sleeves are too short but, that's because I'm a 6'6", 225lb guy but, it fits perfectly otherwise. It looks and feels wonderful and, is a dream to wear. I absolutely love lounging around the house in it. Guys, if your comfortable in you own masculinity, try the Shadowline Silhouette line of sleepware!! You won't be sorry and you'll NEVER go back to boring old men's sleepware again!!And for the people complaining about how thin the material is, IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE THAT WAY!!! These are made from Shadowline's Satinrique Nylon which is very sheer. They are very well made and hold up for a long time. I've had several of the gowns for years and they look just as good today as when I first bought them.

This review is not only for the two purple robes I ordered, but also for the red and black ones I ordered that are the same. I wanted a peignoir set and thought that I could replace my older Shadowline sets that were worse for wear with this robe and a matching gown from the current Shadowline range.The fact is, all of these are pretty darned sheer, the nylon/poly "knit" is not as nice as the ones circa 1980-1990 (probably made in the US) and the robe has a fatal flaw, which prompted me to write this review.At the bottom of the robe's hems, in the front on each side, there are openings where the hem is sewn with only a knot to hold an open hem. What that means is that if you have kitchen cabinet bar pulls, heeled slippers or anything that might possibly catch on this "loop" created by the open hem, it will catch and potentially cause either an accident, or at the very least a rip of the hem and/or the fabric of the robe, rendering it unwearable.In other words, the bodice area and the sleeves are very well made but the hem needs to be attached properly. Personally, I took the time to re-hem each of the robes I purchased by hand in matching thread (which is a pain in and of itself) but I just don't feel that I should have to do this for a robe that costs as much as these flimsy ones from the current Shadowline line.I ordered at the same time, from Amazon, on a hunch, a peignor set from China, with both gown and robe included in the purchase price, at less than half of the cost of this robe, that was straight up 200% better quality than this robe, with better stretchy nylon, better lace, padded and finished cups on the gown and complete hems on both gown and robe.I will wear these gowns and matching robes from Shadowline that I ordered last month but I won't be replacing them with more of the same products. I'll be purchasing from the Chinese company on Amazon, which is so unusual for me to be saying, since I didn't expect the quality to be so low for Shadowline products and so high for the non-branded Chinese product.After spending all afternoon hand finishing the robes in matching threads, I really wonder why I didn't notice this when I first received them and send them back before I washed and wore them. At least now, with the new hems, I shouldn't be catching all the kitchen cabinet pulls in my kitchen or potentially catching a toe and falling down the stairs. Really, they couldn't extend the hem just a little more to the openings of the robe?

This gown is sheer, but oh so comfortable! Soft, silky, and perfect on Summer nights! I highly recommend! I have one in nearly every color Shadowline offers!

I had some high hopes when buying this, just hoping none of the bad reviews panned out in my case. And boy was I right to order! It is stunning! It’s so lightweight, flattering and fits smoothly. I did not see any defects even after a wash/dry cycle. I did use the delicate setting to hopefully not create any issues. But overall, I’m so glad I went with this. I use it over my more delicate nightgown as a coverup around the house. But once I put this thing on, I don’t want to take it off! It feels so wonderful on my skin, and I since I ordered larger just in case (I always order larger, easier to manage than something too small), it has the wiggle room for doing things around the house. It fits perfectly around the bust, with the little bit of elasticity needed just in case, and flares downward around my natural shape. I cannot be more happy with this. May buy more!

I gained weight over covid lockdown going from weighing 113 to 135! This fits quite snug on me at the present but can be worn with just the top button attached. :-) Still looks beautiful. This is very sheer so to be worn over a full coverage nightgown which I do. It only has 3-4 buttons at the top to hold in place and the rest of the gown is open and flowy. Hope this review helps! I'm okay not ordering the medium over the small because I am slowly going back down to my normal weight. I am very small up top so for someone with larger breasts I would order up a size or if you weigh over 130 lbs and are 5'4 or shorter order the medium!

Sizing info wasn't clear on this. So I bought a 2x gown and then a 2x jacket. The 2x gown was tight in the bust. So I was happy to get in the 2x jacket and it fit comfortably, even in the bust. So I bought a 3x gown. I will probably be most comfortable in the 3x gown with the 2x jacket. As the jacket has more room in the bust than the gown did. I am a US 40k bra size and though they don't mention bust size in sizing chart on this, I highly recommend making this purchased based on bust measurement if you want comfort.

Looks lovely with a bit of sexiness . Matches perfectly with their Silhouette nightgown of the same colour . Maybe a little shear , but I don't wear it when we have company over or I go out shopping so who cares !

I bought the gown in Ivory, and then decided I'd like to have one 'set', so I bought the Long coat (as they call it). I feel very elegant in it. I wish you could just go to a Dept store and still buy these kinds of lovely nightgowns. I now have the Ivory, Black and the Red. they fit perfectly and the bodice is an elasticized lace which shapes itself to you. The rest of the long flowing fabric is lightweight which is perfect because you are under the bedding after all and don't need a heavy gown. It doesn't tangle itself up around my legs, which surprised me in a good way.
