The Heart of the Spring

This is an excellent series of book, if you like historical fiction, this setting is around Bennett Spring State Park in Missouri. Very good author!

It was a very predictable read from the beginning, but did provide a nostalgic view of the location and the times.

A beautiful love story told in a beautiful time in a beautiful area. The beautiful Ozarks comes to life and the history of Bennett Springs is entwined throughout. Makes me want to dip my toes in the cold water!

If you are traveling to the Ozarks and are interested in the area, especially Bennett Spring this is the book for you. It is a cute light reading book. It has some historical facts thrown in to give you information on the area, but not so much that you feel overloaded. There is a family struggle and a light romance and problems of dealing with change in a growing community. This is a great book to read and I highly recommend it.
