Winter World (The Long Winter Trilogy Book 1)

I like books that are easy to read. This book flows well from beginning to end. Are there some things that are a little hard to accept, scientifically? Politically? Probably. But the story and the characters carry the day. I am looking forward to reading the next book.There may be some discontent with the grammer and such, but none of this s enough to break the story. After all, the story is told by the characters and we all speak in fragments. Such writing enhances the story by making you feel you are talking with the character.

I was not familiar with this author but I do enjoy the occasional science fiction story. This story was really good. It was so good, I could not wait to order the second and third book in the trilogy. Loved this book.

Just what I needed right now. A really good book to read. The story is quite good, the science maybe not so much but that's okay because I needed a good story in this one had it. Looking forward to the sequel.

I kept seeing the ads on my tablet and just decided to get it. It took a few days but I finished and I'm so glad there is a 2nd book! If you love Sci-Fi or apocalyptic novels, read this!!!!!

When I began this I was surprised by the very good writing style and changes in plot. In several prior series one could read the first pages and know how the whole book would play out. Not so here.

Wow, just wow! I have just finished the final book of the Winter World trilogy by A. G. Riddle, and I am blown away. This series has taken me on an incredible journey through a post-apocalyptic world, and the conclusion did not disappoint.From the very first pages of Winter World, I was hooked.What impressed me the most was the intricate plot and the way Riddle tied everything together in the final book, The Lost Colony. The twists and turns kept me guessing until the very end.If you're looking for a gripping adventure that will keep you on the edge of your seat, do yourself a favor and dive into the Winter World trilogy. You won't regret it.

I’m really enjoying this new Genre of Science Fiction Thriller novels. Previously I would only read hard science fiction and Space Operas. I’m glad a friend of mine told me about A G Riddle. In the last 3 weeks I’ve already read his first 5 novels. Downloading the next one now.

É um sci-fi high-tech divertido. Parece uma história mais longa compactada em um comprimento menor, então você tem saltos aqui e ali, mas isso é bom. É meio que escrito no estilo de roteiro, mas isso não é ruim na minha opinião. Também está escrito em um estilo mais realista, que meio que desabilitou os elementos de "grande surpresa". Na minha opinião, o autor não conseguiu aumentar a tensão antes dos grandes momentos.

Great Plot. Despite the fact that the Glacial era was the catch, the book is about space travel and aliens. Humans versus some advanced species harvesting our sun to obtain energy while the human race experiences slow annihilation. There are some familiar dramas and a love story too. Five stars for sure.

A. G. Riddle writes awesome books and as I have read most of them so far, I am looking forward to this one, and the others that follow.

well written and easy to read

The not too distant future. Global warming is no longer a concern. The planet is gripped by the Long Winter. Earth is cooling, the Polar ice caps have expanded to cover huge swathes of both the northern and southern hemispheres . Billions are dead or dying, those that can have migrated to the only remaining areas sustaining life - what used to be arid plains and desolate deserts. But even here it's cold, light snow and grey weak sunlight. Out in space the international space station has spotted a large object placed between the sun and earth ,it's blocking the suns energy from reaching earth. Attempts to establish communication and discover what it is have met with a hostile response one astronaut has survived and is in desperate need of help. Back on Earth a plan is being formulated. It will need countries to work together, selecting a team of individuals tasked with a rescue and a search mission. Where did this object come from? What sent it? Are there more? What is it's function.?Book 1 of 3 laying the foundation of a fantastical story that if nothing else, answers the question ' are we alone in the universe ?' An enjoyable read exploring lots of 'what if?' questions , and developing into an all or nothing climax as our team fights back against an unknown aggressor , will it be enough ??
