The slide doesn't stay open or closed. It flops back and forth so when you open it to drink it slides shut and when you try to clean it - it's impossible. I tried dishwasher, q-tips, soaking it in hot soapy water. It is a total flop. I purchased it because I wanted something that I could close when traveling so it didn't spill. I wouldn't even mind if it leaked a little but whatever way you tip your cup it opens and closes with movement - on it's own.

Was looking for this style lid to replace the open style that came with my cup. It definitely is not a 100% leak proof lid. Liquid will come up slightly through the slider and drip if it is tipped. Still manages to do the job overall. Fits the cup well and will not come out. As mentioned in other reviews, cleaning is a small hassle. The slider is a hollow piece so it gets dirty inside the slider, but it is easily removable from the bottom side. An extra step over higher quality brands, but in all takes 10-20 extra seconds -- and don't lose the part while its apart.

The wife likes it. What else matters?!? The lid seals very well, however, as stated in the product description, it is NOT a leakproof lid because the slider does not seal tightly.

The kid fit and kept beverages warmer longer with the slider. Unfortunately the slider would fall down while drinking which was annoying. Also took the slide out to clean between it and the lid and one of the tabs broke off which makes it useless for its intended purpose. Highly recommend getting a Yeti lid which has a magnet slide and is more secure.

Got a great polar camel mug from my job, keeps ice water cold. slipped and broke my lid. Others gave you 2 for the cost, but this one was the only one that looked identical, and listed my mug. Got it and it works perfect. 4 starts on value as it was little pricey, I got mug free so for the cost of the lid I have my mug back, so....

Who knew I could get just a lid, with a slider to close the sipping hole. Some say they hit their nose on the slider; I suppose you can but it’s not a big deal. Yes, you have to make sure water gets under the slider when you clean; also not a big deal. I have no problem with leaks or removing the lid.

I already had a Polar Camel 20 ounce travel mug without a closable lid. I was delighted with the fit and color selection for this addition to my mug.It was exactly what I was seeking, fit beautifully and is used whenever I take my mug outside.I love Polar Camel products.

Slider sometimes moves on its own. Also it’s not as easy to clean as you would think. There’s an area under the slider that you can never really clean thoroughly. Even soaking doesn’t do the trick.
