Bumpy ride
This was the right shock for the money

Make sure you get your old part off completely
These fit the front end of my 1970 VW Beetle. Perfect fit, easy to install. One note, when I took off the old shocks the metal collar on the lower bushing stayed on the connecting bolt. The new shock does not fit 'over' it. I thought the new shock was wrong until I realized that the old bushing had come apart. It took lots of penetrating oil and a pipe wrench to remove the old collar. But once the old shock was completel off, the new one went on super easy. Nice smooth ride now.

Good price and prompt delivery.
I had to modify the bottom of them by removing the steel grommets in order to fit the lower support bolt on my 73 VW Thing. Not a perfect fit for that reason but will work if you are mechanically inclined.

Monroe shocks are great!
Excellent quality and they are gas charged without being stiff. Lighter vehicles require shocks that are not stiff. Otherwise,you would feel every bump.

OEM ride and handling
Fit 1970 VW beetle (front) just like OEM. Valving is similar to stock and ride is decent as a result.

Fit well not like the originals with weird bump-stop at the top of the shock, but worked out great!
