Effective School Interventions, Second Edition: Evidence-Based Strategies for Improving Student Outcomes

This was recommended as a book from my professor, who was fantastic. This is a must have book that anyone can really use throughout their profession and especially teachers. It has great ideas for interventions. Each classmate was given three interventions and had to do a 15 minute presentation on their interventions. What a wonderful activity which allow everyone to showcase what interventions can do to help in a classroom environment. Love this book. The books that we must use are books that will carry you throughout the courses along with your use in your psychology or counseling profession. It will be put in my repertoire.

I don't really use it as much, but I like that it serves as a good reference. It has some good ideas for interventions, but honestly you can fins these same ones using google.

For educators and Student Support Team coordinators who are looking for Tier 2 interventions. "Effective School Interventions" provide a variety of Social, Behavioral and Academic Interventions with precise and detailed methods to implement and evaluate your interventions. This book also provides coordinators and counselors with great material for professional development. The only suggestion I have is to have a digital companion with templates to go with some of the forms educators need to create for assessment.

Great to see Science having an impact in education. Education needs science to put it on the right track!

Helfpfull and easily implemented suggestions for classroom management, especially for new teachers. Very useful suggestions that actually work in the classroom!

Good enough

OK, it's quite dry. But, as a reference book, it's excellent. Well laid-out sections on reading, writing and math really helped me. Just so many clearly described and analysed interventions. Perfect reference book for teachers, special needs staff, psychologists, etc.
