The paints have good covering power and a smooth, satin finish and they can be used and blended for a variety of techniques from washes to textural impasto. This is a wonderful set for any level of skill but it makes an especially good gift for the novice artist. Comes in a colorful and sturdy cardboard box with handle which can be reused for storage or transport.

The canvas boards were warped and the easel is functional and good for beginners
These folks surely need to learn how to pack and ship! That being said it arrived on time with everything in it. The canvas boards were warped and the easel is functional and good for beginners. The paints are a good little start set and the brushes are okay. For $18 though, I really can't complain too much. Everything is there to start you out or refresh your skills if you are picking up the brushes again. Winsor and Newton have been around a long time and stand behind their products. A good, simple, starter set.

I hope the Winsor Newton name will have good quality paint and I will be satisfied.
My talented 14 year old great neice asked for acrylics for Christmas. This seemed like a good intro package and a great value. The carriying box w/handle inside the brown box was a little damaged. I think this will be well received.
