Samson "Silent" 10 Tray Stainless Steel Dehydrator - Digital Controls - Glass Door PLUS 5 Silicone Sheets

I absolutely love this dehydrator. I use it almost every single day. It has a beautiful design, very easy to clean, easy to use, it’s silent, and I love the glass front door. If I was to note anything I didn’t care for about the product, it is that the temperature goes up and down in 9° increments rather than 1° and that may upset some hard core raw foodies since it’s crucial to keep the temperature between 118° to about 122° In order to keep the food raw and alive. Also, as a suggestion, I think it would be nice if they put a light on the inside top like they do in an oven. Great product though! I love it. I make raw vegan meatballs, flax seed crackers, veggie crackers, dried fruit, “sun” dried tomatoes and garlic etc etc .... there’s so much you can make!

I was nervous to spend so much on a dehydrator for home use, but I have to say I am so pleased with this product. First, it holds SO MUCH food on the 10 trays! I can process 4-5 different batches of food all at one time. I do process veggies together and fruits together plus peppers/onions/garlic by themselves. I am having so much fun trying new things. So far, I've successfully dehydrated many veggies, fruits, herbs from my garden, chicken hearts for dog treats, and fruit leathers. I am playing around with melon slices today. I love the fact that I have been able to salvage produce that I would not be able to use before spoiling and that I can buy in bulk to use part fresh and dehydrate the rest. The machine does take up a lot of counter space, but the tradeoff is worth it. It is also not completely quiet, but the low hum from the fan is not really noticeable.

Upgraded from a round dehydrator. Yes this costs more but much more space, dries even, quiet!! , Did I mention it was quiet? Trays clean easy. Very happy . I have made venison jerky and dehydrated some backpacking food, chili, split pea & ham soup and some past with sauce . Easy cook in the backcountry. I save about $7-$10 per meal vs purchased freeze dried meals .

I own two other dehydrators but they are both so loud. The Samson is as loud as a house fan. The unit is solid. There are 10 steel racks each with a plastic insert. The rough side of the plastic needs to be facing up and the smooth side down to help prevent food from sticking. I have dehydrated several different kids of fruits and vegetables and I am impressed with the results. I like the timed auto off feature. The buttons offers simple operation. I have not made jerky in it as of yet but expect it will do the job just fine. I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to keep this in a stationary place as it is quite cumbersome to move in and out. It is rather tall so I would take note of the measurements and make sure it will fit where you plan to use it.

So far I love it. So easy to use and SUPER QUIET. Comes with stainless steel mesh screens, plastic mesh screens for smaller items AND this package came with silicone mat. I bought a dehydrator recipe book with it and was ready to go. Easy to use. On off button,timer temp button and plus and minus button.

Make sure you confirm temps with a thermometer. Set at 130 and my auto off thermometer said 141 before it turned off.

I love the size, simplicity of operation and results from this dehydrator. However I'm not sure about quality. Mine stopped working in the middle of drying some tomatoes, after 5 months of ownership and moderate use. (In fact I liked it so much, I bought two more as gifts for friends). The company offers a guaranty on its products, and appears honorable. However, the user has to pay for shipping and a small charge for parts. This is a large machine, and I estimate shipping in both directions plus the parts charge would cost ~ $90. I decided to take a haircut on a restocking charge by Amazon instead. By the way, Amazon had excellent customer service. Mine may have been a fluke, but I wouldn't rebuy this brand.

I like the size, the fact that it is quiet and that it is easy to clean. I received the 5 silicone liners and really like them as well.

My only complaint is the fact that you can't shut off the eyeball-searing digital display, even when the unit is off. Getting up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom & catching those lights in the eyes is NOT pleasant. It's also a waste of electricity & resources.I have plugged mine in to a power bar which has a switch so I can properly shut this thing down when not in use.

Lots of trays and easy to use especially as we harvest produce for winter. Greens dehydrate and form a green powder... many other uses such as dried dog treats
