This was my sixth Beth Moore bible study. I have done two with a church group and four on my own. It took me about eight-nine weeks although it is set up for a ten week course. I downloaded and watched four of her videos, although there are ten altogether available at [...] (The workbook alone is a great study even without her videos.) I really enjoyed doing the workbook reading and answering the questions at my own pace sometimes more and sometimes less than four or five times a week. The lessons don't take nearly as long as the other studies I have done. Max is about 30-35 minutes whereas some of her other studies: e.g. the one on Esther and the one on the Tabernacle took me almost an hour. The questions are thought provoking and, as usual, she makes you compare other passages to the ones in Genesis to get the bigger picture from a Christian viewpoint. Nicely done!She includes many personal stories which go quite nicely with the stories of the Patriarchs from Genesis while giving you ample opportunity to think of your own similar experiences. The story of Jacob struggling with the Angel of the Lord at Peniel really helped me understand better past and recent struggles in my own life. I felt this study helped me resolve some personal issues and receive healing. Besides the personal experiences and application for bible scholars as well as beginners in bible exploring--there is ample biblical research involved. I found this to be one of her easier but very life changing and worthwhile studies. Truth is not compromised by the witness involve..it is given clarity. Would recommend it for any woman individually or in a group. I just sent for my seventh bible study workbook by Beth Moore. (ordered it here on amazon.com) Obviously, I greatly appreciate the work of this women's bible study leader and teacher.

Excellent book for a Bible Study! I have learned a lot from this particular study and makes you look deep into Genesis and how it relates to the New Testament as well.

For me this was a mind & heart opening study helping me to understanding God & His ways more. Beth can be very theatrical for me which on the DVD is nice & invites feeling of togetherness/fellowship, but for me in reading can be too much verbiage at times. But that’s my interpretation. She is definitely used by God because she truly loves Him & seeks Him & that can be without a doubt revealed in her teachings.

Beth Moore is one of the most prolific teachers of the Word of God. You cannot go wrong with her study and teaching materials. I have used several of her workbooks, and they are wonderful! Beth breaks down the Word and Gospel like no other. Patriarchs is a great walk through the book of Genesis and other parts of the Bible. Praise God for giving us Beth Moore during our time on earth!!!

The study goes hand in hand with the guide. Together they help me grow in my faith and walk with my Lord.

Beth Moore is one of the great bible teachers of our time. Every study, and I've done many, never fails to amaze me, challenge me, change me, grow me.
