A great flooring stapler at a great price!!!
I installed 800+ feet of 3/8 engineered oak hardwood flooring using over 8000 staples, and the stapler worked perfectly. There were no miss-fires, and the stapler would not shoot a staple if I didn't have it lined up correctly - which is a huge plus, because I've used others in the past that would put a staple in the surface of the floor if you didn't have it placed on the tongue properly. Even if you're only going to install a few hundred square feet of flooring, this is worth buying because it costs about the same as renting a unit for 3 days, and it's brand new and not abused like most rental units are. Also a HUGE plus with this stapler is that it uses 1/4" staples instead of the 3/16" staples that Bostich and the cheaper Bynford stapler use - and that will save you the cost of the unit on a larger project. I got 5,000 1/4" staples from amazon.com for $8.50 per box with no tax and free shipping. The local H**e D*p*t wanted $25.00 for 5,000 for the 3/16" staples. I used 3 boxes and that saved me over $50.00 alone.Another PLUS is the ability to use multiple size staples, and not just 1" staples... and of course it can also be used as a brad nailer to install the shoe molding after you're done with the flooring... yet another cost savings... I haven't used it as a brad nailer yet since I already own a Bostich brad nailer. This stapler has already made me much more money than I paid for it and the quality seems good, especially for the price. The only con I can think of is the instruction manual is very poor, and if your not very mechanically inclined, of haven't used a flooring stapler before, it's not real clear how to adjust the stapler for the flooring size. Once I got the stapler adjusted for my particular floor thickness - it worked perfect and lined up great and I was able to shoot staples as fast as I could move along the floor board.Last thing - Bob at Woodworker Specialties was great in replying to my emails and questions. I would definitely purchase from them again even if they're price were higher (which they are not - they're lower). And fulfillment by amazon was another plus for me since I'm an amazon.com Prime member and got free 2 day shipping.Buy this item with confidence - any issues will be resolved by amazon.com and Woodworker Specialties with just one email - so it's a no brainer in my mind

Works well but be a little careful
I just received this Monday (two days ago) and had the first chance to try it out last night. I will not get to seriously use it until Friday. My initial impressions are positive. The manual, while not great, is actually pretty good for a chinese made product. I did not find the depth adjustment to have much effect but it isn't hard to vary depth with the regulator setting. 70 psi, the recommended minimum, didn't fully seat 1 inch staples going through 3/8 oak into 3/4 plywood but 90 psi did nicely. Adjusting for the flooring thickness is simple and shouldn't really require instructions (there are two locking knobs and marks so you can set the fence the same on both sides). Clearing a jamb (I didn't have one, I just wanted to know the process) is also pretty simple. The piece that goes up against the flooring seems to have a non-slip softer surface finish which is a nice touch. If this was $200-300 I wouldn't rate this highly but for $100 this seems to be a nice stapler. We'll see if I still think so after installing several hundred feet of flooring (I have a total of 600 feet to do and may add a few hundred more if it goes well).I still like this stapler after putting down about 600 ft2 of flooring with it but it is not as foolproof as some reviews suggest. I managed to put a few staples into the face of the board when I was not concentrating on the stapler position. Part of the issue was probably the 5/16 thick flooring I was stapling (that is thin) but the tool safety would also allow these mis-aimed staples. I had no jams, however, including one staple that obiously hit a nail. I think it is easily worth the money and I further believe that even with a redesign of the fence, stapling flooring this thin without error is asking for a lot. I used a nail set to push the erant staples well below the surface and will put a little putty in the resulting hole. The bottom line is the stapler did the job.

Great value for the money and "do it yourself" individual
After purchasing 450 sq ft of 3/8" thick engineered hardwood flooring, I found out the staple gun I intended to use would not work with flooring under 5/8" thick. I did some research, and ended up on Amazon looking at options. I opted to purchase this gun based on the positive feedback from other users, and I was not disappointed.I ended up also purchasing 1" long Senco brand staples (Amazon as well) to use with this. the first thing I was impressed with was the quality of the gun. It is well constructed, and appeared to use quality components. all mechanisms on the gun worked fine, and I had the depth settings set quickly, and ready to use in about 2 minutes.I was pleased to find the settings were perfect "right out of the box". I made no adjustments to the air pressure and just started putting down the floor. This was my first time installing any hardwood type flooring, and the flawless operation of the gun made the job go that much easier.I highly recommend this staple gun for anyone needing to lay 1/4" to 1/2" thick flooring, or just to have for general use. It can also double as a finish nailer, so it maybe handy for lots of uses. In my case, a friend who lays floors professionally offered to buy this from me, so I basically got to use it for free! Can't beat that!

Stopped Working
I have this stapler and it has stopped working properly. II purchased this tool in December 2013. I have only used it to lay approx 300 square feet of 3/8" laminate. It started with failing to shoot a staple once in a while, to not shooting at all. I oil it regularly. The driver that "pushes" the staple does not retract. When I remove the head piece and manually push this driver back up, reassemble, then it will shoot one staple and the driver remains in the down position. The only way it will deliver another staple is if I disassemble the head and push the driver back up, then it will shoot one staple again, then stick in the down position. Again, it is well oiled. Somebody please respond if you have this problem, especially if you are a rep from Bynford.
