The laptop stand I'd been looking for
I give this Aidata laptop sand five stars. I bought it the day after I saw someone using one, and have used it for about a month, and it is everything I've been looking for. The two major problems with using a laptop on a table, for me anyway, have been getting the screen high enough that I don't get a 'crick' in my neck from bending my neck down to see the screen, and getting the keyboard at enough of an upwards angle as to minimize any repetitive stress injury. No laptop stand can fix either of those perfectly, since so long as the screen and keyboard are conjoined, the closer down you get the keyboard to your hands, the lower the screen goes, and the higher up you get the screen to your eyes, the higher the keyboard goes. But this stand, with its six different positions, always makes things better, and specifically lets you choose which of the two problems to focus on--to get the screen up really high, or to get the best keyboard angle possible given the table you are using.I use it with a MacPro 13", and again, it's the best I've found. (I have one other I like, but it has only one position, a relatively low position that is good for the keyboard, but not as helpful with the screen.) It's reasonably light, it packs easily into its small convenient neoprene case, it takes up almost no room in your backpack or briefcase, it's attractive in use, it's easy to unfold for use and refold for transport, and I like the turntable, which stays put unless you quite deliberately turn it, but which can indeed be turned if you want to show your screen to someone else.Yes, it feels pricey, but I've been looking for a good stand for a long time and was happy to pay for this piece of gear since it is just what I wanted and will serve me for a long time to come.

Brilliant In Its Simplicity - Very Good Value!
The Aidata LHA-3 LAPstand (who thought up that name?) is simple/minimalist industrial design at it's best. I bought this after having tried the popular Rolodex stand (to hold my HP Pavillion dv7-3085dx 17" laptop). The front lip on the Rolodex wouldn't stop the rounded front edge of the HP from sliding over the edge onto whatever surface the stand happened to be on (not good). Valuing compactness/portability and not wanting to spend a lot for the stand (primarily used for my semi-pro dj'ing), I decided to try the LHA-3. First impression: not great, given that it comes packaged in hard-shelled sealed plastic that you have to cut with a chain saw to get it out of. After cursing my way through that, my first impression was there's not much to this thing - is this really going to work? The answer is a solid "yes."Does it securely hold my laptop? Yes, with a fairly minor caveat, which I'll explain in the context of the different elevation options. There are two 2 (two) "sets" of elevation options (low and high and notice that I said "sets") given that the stand actually has 2 separate back support brackets (the smaller/lower one a clever "cut out" of the larger/higher one). My caveat: at the lowest height elevation using the smaller back support at the rear-most (lowest) position, my laptop would still slide over the front retaining "lips" that protrude through the bottom front of the stand surface. I consider this as much or more HP's design fault than the LHA-3's. At the other 5 elevations, my laptop was quite secure. I suppose if you have a problem laptop and the lowest elevation is important to you, some strategically placed velcro ought to solve that problem. Big pluses: it is very compact and folds nearly flat and should easily fit in most laptop cases and comes with with a slip-on neoprene protective cover. Did I mention that it can rotate on it's base?If you're looking for a good value in a clever simple/minimalist design that works, you should give this some serious consideration. Highly recommended.

A great ergonomic laptop stand, very practical and efficient
I am very pleased with this laptop stand. It is simple and ergonomic, easy to transport, light and yet sufficiently supportive.I have a 17 inch Dell and is held securely in place. It is also great as a mouse pad when needed and I tuck my jump drives, etcunder the stand to keep them out of the way. I only wish that it went down one level lower for some of my work stations, it wouldbe easier to set a good level with my chair positioning. But overall it is a great laptop stand, versatile, compact, well thought out, well made, and I feel I made a teriffic choice. Nothing bulky here, just what you need, you can take it anywhere![...]

Generally works well, but not on the lower settings
This stand doesn't actually hold my laptop up on the three low settings with the screen raised to a comfortable angle: the center of gravity of the laptop shifts far enough from where it was in closed position that it slides off beyond the clips. I have a 7-pound, 17-inch laptop, though; it might work fine for smaller computers. Fortunately, I don't really have any reason to use the lower settings (according to the directions, intended for use when you need to type on the built-in keyboard), as I always use an external keyboard when I'm using the stand. The instructions provided are terrible, consisting entirely of pictures and broken English. I was just being stupid, but it took me at least five minutes to figure out that the little clips at the bottom fold out from the main body of the stand. Until I figured out that the clips existed, I was sheepishly moving my laptop around on the stand trying to figure out if it was supposed to sit there by friction or if some piece on the bottom of my laptop was supposed to hold it up or what.It also seems rather expensive for a simple metal stand. However, I would probably buy it again unless I found a clearly better deal; for the most part, it does what I wanted.

It wobbles
The stand wobbles on the little rotating dish on the bottom. They should have told me that might be a problem.

Really good product.
Really sturdy stand! I use it with my 16'' pen display and it doesn't shake at all. I only bought some anti-slip tape to tape over the round rivets so the tablet doesn't rub against them or the bare metal.

Super awesome!!
Bought to use with my 13in Wacom Studio Pro and it's absolutely fabulous. Works perfectly, folds flat and is super light but strong and sturdy. The metal stand is so much better than any plastic one I have bought in the past.

aidata adjustable aluminum laptop stand
I like this stand but I wish the lip in front of the stand was a bit higher to hold my laptop in place and to keep my laptop from sliding off the stand.,

Good but makes some laptops overheat
A very nice, lightweight stand that works perfectly with a Macbook. On its lowest setting it is rather wobbly but it is fine on the next setting up. It also rattles because of the large spare prop that is not in use when using the lower settings, but this can be cured by inserting the neoprene case as a bit of padding. The main issue with it is that a solid sheet of aluminium lies under and very close to the laptop chassis. This is fine on a MacBook because the unibody has no fan ports underneath, but my wife's HP laptop has cooling fan grilles underneath, which this stand blocks, so the laptop was overheating with the fans going full blast all the time and the laptop heading for failure. So, check that your laptop doesn't have cooling outlets underneath. If it doesn't then it will be fine.
