CFL AOK: Sylvania 20671 Compact Fluorescent 4 Pin Double Tube 3500K, 13-watt -[Color Temp Chart Image]-
There are multiple Slyvania CFLs listed on this web page so I will first identify which one I am reviewing. The photoon the web page, when you the pick the 3500K and 13 watt options, is exactly the one I purchased May 2015.:: Sylvania 20671 Compact Florescent Bulb Specs :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :::: Model #: CF13DD/E/835:: Shape: T4:: Base: G24q-3:: Number of Pins: 4:: Kelvin Color Temp: 3500 (Middle of the ‘bright white’ spectrum. In case you have other fluorescent brand bulbsin your fixture I will list, for reference reasons, what the manufacturer recommends as replacements. If you have thefollowing bulbs the Sylvania will replace it exactly. The other bulbs are:Phillips Model PL-C 13W/27/4PGE Model F13DBX/SPX27/4P It has been working fine for over a year. I turn the ceiling fixture on and off every day. It probably stays on for about 5-10 minutes a day. This means I have put about 1,800 to 3,600 hours on the bulb so far in one year. It is rated to burnfor 12,000 hours; so far so good. At this rate it should last another 3-4 years. Your mileage will vary. This bulb earns 5 Stars for operating without a problem. I can’t say much more than that this bulb was made in China.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------UpDate NOTE June 2017: This bulb just gave out. It worked for one year of turning on and off twice a day, every day.I rarely kept the overhead bulb burning more than 10-15 minutes.

Okay, but not bright white
These work fine, but we were disappointed that the lighting was yellow & not bright white. We can’t find bright white light bulbs like this anywhere.

arrived broken
Aside from the fact that these bulbs are hard to find and expensive, apparently, they're quite fragile, as well. I've ordered other bulbs online with no trouble, but this one arrived shattered inside the box, even though it was surrounded by bubble wrap. Beware of ordering online... although, with their obscurity, you may not have any other option. As for the bulb itself, I suppose that technically, it works fine (when it's not broken). Easy to install... simply pull out the old one and push in the new one. They start out pretty dim, but within a couple of minutes, they're quite bright. I'd say they have a good life... the one I bought was to replace a broken one in a rental house. The ones in my actual house have never burned out and the house is almost 6 years old.

Hard To Find. Great Price.
For some reason, this particular model of Sylvania is very hard to find locally, and if I'm not mistaken, Lowe's is the only one that might carry it. However, the fact that I've found it here at Amazon, is yet another reason to keep coming back for more. It's great to see that Amazon is full filling more and more items needed for a regular household.Something you should know about this light bulb that is not listed in the description. This model is emits more of a white sort of light. I was expecting the traditional yellow, but was pleased to find out that is more of a white shade, which makes a room look brighter and more pleasing to the eye.I ordered 4, but only received 3, so I called Amazon's customer service, and as always, they promptly helped me and issued me a refund for the missing light bulb. I'm happy to be a Prime member and will remaing to be as long as Amazon keeps its excellent customer service staff. Kudos to them.

Do not recommend these, they don't last very long
Our kitchen uses 9 PL-T 26w bulbs (btw when I first saw they weren't the screw type I thought WHY?!?!?!?! I wanted to put LED bulbs in). The originals which were some generic brand were replaced one by one until all 9 were these Sylvania 20879 bulbs. Two have already gone out and it has been less than 9 months since I first started ordering these bulbs. On average our kitchen lights probably stays on 3-4 hours a day, without much turning on and off. Considering these are expensive cfl bulbs, they should last longer than 9 months. I generally consider Sylvania to be a good brand, but these definitely don't live up to that reputation. Another reviewer recommended the Phillips bulbs, I found them locally for roughly the same price and will give them a try.
