I actually got this eye patch as a joke because I temporarily lost vision on my left eye. It was a bit tight and was uncomfortable wearing for too long so if you plan on using this for a costume, keep that in mind.

A good eye patch has some structure to it and forms a convex cup to keep the patch from resting on the eye itself. That way, you can still open your eye, but see only darkness. This thing is just a piece of foam with a strap. it rests directly on the eyelid, forcing the user to keep their eye closed. Also, even when adjusted as loose as possible, the constant pressure on the eye becomes very uncomfortable in a short time.

I recently lost my eye... Now I'm a proper pirate with a peg for me leg, a hook for me hand and a patch for me eye.I lost me leg when I was swinging between ships and the ships came together and crushed me leg.I lost me hand in a mighty sword battle.So how did I lose me eye?I was looking up trimming me sail and a seagull pooped in me eye. Now I know you probably don't think you can lose an eye from seagull poop, but you have to understand, this happened shortly after I had lost me hand.This eye patch is fun, what can I say... It's soft with adjustable straps, everything a pirate could ask for.I'm not sure this is even intended to be medical grade, but this pirate like it for wha it is.Good size, big enough for an adult and not to massive for those budding crew.

My wife wore the eyepatch along with the pirate's hat for Halloween for the grandkids. They loved the look of it, as they are SpongeBob SquarePants fans.
