Works, kind of.
Aluminium construction, and it does sit just behind the breach when mounted. However my sight came in and it did NOT fit a 1911a1 G.I. dovetail as advertised. The gunsmith got it on but its not pretty at all. Bottom line, this will work if you really need one on the cheap; but I would personally say save up for a better quality one.
