There is a vastness to this film that is strangely intimate. Religion, love, and faith are all put to the test here and found wanting. With stark echoes of today's entrenched beliefs and the violence they engender, "Soldier of God" focuses the Holy Wars of the twelfth century on two men. Beautifully shot and marvelously acted, "Soldier of God" is a thoughtful, insightful and an intelligent film to be enjoyed as much for its words, as for its scenery.

OK but not what I expected
The movie is good however there is little action. Lots of conversations regarding many existing issues between Muslims and Christians and the idea of the Holy War.

I kept wondering when the point of the movie would be revealed but it never was. Great potential and costumes, and the acting was good with what they had to work with, but it badly needed a director and a different story line.
