Around the Year: Mini edition (Elsa Beskow Mini series)

I should have read the description and measured it. Very small book for the price!

This is a really lovely little book. The illustrations alone are worth examining but also the text that comes along. I'm so glad I found this little gem.

I love Elsa Beskow's sheer tales about the little people in the forest. I was pleased to find them translated to English even though unfortunately Elsa's poetic narrative doesn't translate as nicely as I would have hoped. In Swedish it is pure magic. This particular item was a cute mini version of the book. Have never seen anything like that before, in Swedish they come in big rectangular shapes. These were more practical and still came with sturdy covers and Elsa's original illustrations.

It is smaller than I thought it would be. I am used to bigger versions of Beskow books. Always great books though. The year is more for the European and northern US areas with snow in winter. If you live in southern US, with small changes in the seasons it might bring a lot of questions from the kids.

I was so excited to get this book, I made sure to not order the book that is listed as (mini) so I ordered this one thinking it was the larger size, unfortunately, although it did not state mini, it is also a mini size. I will need to return.

Smaller than expected (didn't see mini version) - 5" X 6.75" but still rather wonderful! We'll use this all year round for so many years!! Elsa Beskow made great books! Such precious pictures- but very European/white centric.

My kids were quick to notice that children in the illustration for the month of July are completely naked. So there’s that. Otherwise a cute little book.

We love this book! So great for the beginning of each month. The illustrations are beautiful.

Love all of Elsa Berskow books - they are the most 'in demand' in our household.
