I Can Make a Difference: A Treasury to Inspire Our Children

This book is a must have for every child! How inspiring! My 8 year old daughter and I love to reading this book. I’m sure we will be reading this book continually for a very long time.

In her introduction, Edelman writes beautifully:"I hope this book will inspire and empower children through the stories and wisdom of the many cultures and people with whom our children must share a world. All our children need to know that goodness and wisdom come in all colors and countries and genders and sizes and do not belong to any single person or group or nation.I also hope this book will help build children strong on the inside, with spiritual anchors to meet challenges with resiliency..."I can only add that the works in this treasury do not simply teach and inspire. I absolutely loved this book and sat right down as soon as it came to read it. The stories, poems, fables are as appropriate today as they where when the fist book came out. Very inspirational. A treasure. The simple line illustrations had to the uniqueness of the book.

Great book and great service

It might be a good book I could not tell. I bought the book used and dozens of pages were neatly cut out and missing. They did such a fine job of cutting out the pages that you could not tell unless you counted pages. I think someone cut out their favorite pages and pictures.

The paintings and accompanying texts from a variety of sources from around the world make this book an absolute must-have for a classroom or family library. You're never too old to enjoy this book.

This is a good book for a family with christian views. As an agnostic parent, I was hoping for an inspiring book without a lot of references to God, but this book has quit a few.

This is an excellent, inspirational book that kids enjoy reading. However, I didn't get a copy from Amazon; the one I did get came from Borders. Much to my dismay and disappointment, Amazon didn't inform me for 3 weeks after I placed the order that it hadn't been delivered to my grandson for his First Communion gift as I had expected. The first one I bought went to another grandson, so now I am on the look-out for another one.
