Long lasting and comfortable
I've had my chicken shoes for years now and wear them a couple of times a week to mow and edge. I bought them to protect me from fire ants and they did even better than I imagined. My feet haven't ever gotten wet when I wore them, but it's not usually wet when I mow. Now I need some taller boots to protect me from snakes. Wish you made these in knee hi size! Love them.

Love the chicken pattern :)
These boots are super cute, they work well for shallow mud and water (I have a tall pair of a different brand for deep mud and water and snow), I wore them for an extended period of time for the first time today and will give my thoughts from that experience. They are a bit hard to get on, especially the left foot (which, being my bad foot, is pretty painful), I believe that is because they are more fitted around the ankle (hence the elastic) so they don't leak or fall off as easy once on. I do wish there was a bit of padding around the rim at the top, because once on, unless you are wearing socks, the plastic rubbing as you walk isn't the most comfortable feeling. The suction I was getting while putting them on and taking them off makes it a bit difficult, if not rather funny.I got a size 8 because I usually wear a 7 1/2 but I could have possible gotten a size up and gotten their insoles to bring it down a half size, as my big toe seems right up against the shoe on the left foot, though its not quite bad enough for me to exchange for a bigger size.I think my biggest issue is the difficulty of getting them on, because if I'm in a rush to get outside that will definitely hinder my movements, and that is the biggest reason I dropped the rating from 5 to 4 stars, if I have an emergency I will not be using these to rush outside. (I am also not a sock girl, so needing to wear socks with these is a little annoying, but, they are slightly easier to get on and off with socks, as the suction is lessened slightly)Once on, they are quite comfortable, even with my big toe brushing the front of the left shoe. They are easy to walk in and give me freedom of movement to not trip over myself in the yard like I do sometimes in other shoes. The insoles already in the boots are 100 times better then those in my tall (non sloggers) boots, which I already had to replace (and need to replace again cause those such too!).I plan on getting the shorter pair of sloggers as well in the near future, (though I am debating about going a size up or staying at the 8) for summer, and I'm hoping those will be easier to get on and off.All in all these are pretty great boots, I do wish they would make a pigeon patterned one though, I would get those in every length in a heartbeat!

Slogger's Garden/Rain Ankle Boot
I bought these shoes primarily to use while working in the yard. I live in FL and it's warm here so I run around in flip flops most of the year. I have some rubber flip flops and also some rubber Crocs that I wear to do yardwork. However, I am sick and tired of my feet getting totally filthy and nasty, with dirt under the toes, etc. Old tennis shoes with socks would probably solve the problem but I decided I wanted something waterproof since I water my flowers with a hose. Tennis shoes aren't. After much searching online, I decided to give these shoes a try for my gardening. They are pretty good. The ONLY thing that I don't care for is that they are a bit hard to slip on. I wear a size 8 but I do have a high arch. These shoes are slip on with no zipper opening or anything like that. It turns out they are kind of hard to slip on. Actually, it's a real struggle to get them on. Once I do finally get them on, they fit just fine and are quite comfortable but getting them on my feet is a pain. I had hoped to have something that I could just keep sitting there by the back door and just sort of hop into them whenever I go outside to putz around in the yard. Not with these. I have to sit down on a chair, put a very thin pair of socks on (it helps them slide over the foot easier than just bare skin) and struggle my way into them. That's the only negative. At least my feet are staying cleaner and in better condition now though since I'm covering them up and keeping them dry. They do also serve as rain boots too. I wore them out and about the other day because it was raining and it was sort of nice not getting my feet soaked like I usually do in flip flops or sandals or even in tennis shoes. The other thing is that I think they are a bit pricey. I'm not one to spend much money on shoes so, for me, spending $35 or whatever it was on gardening shoes was a stretch. They seem to be pretty sturdy and well made. Only time will tell for sure about that though. I just got them in December.

FAR EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS
I purchased these to protect my feet from getting filthy when I’m working in my vegetable garden & weeding a particularly nasty hill at the back of my yard. Last summer, while weeding that hill, dirt worked it’s way through my sneakers & socks as I was climbing on the hill. That dirt got under my toenails. It caused an infection & I lost my big toenails. I had to see a podiatrist & get put on medication. All of that happened because dirt got into my footwear. So, I searched for a solution knowing I’d have to clear that darn hill again this year. My search led me to Sloggers. I tried the slip on shoe; but, I walked right out of them. So, I tried these. OMG!!! They are the answer to my problem. My feet stay completely dry & clean when I wear my Sloggers no matter how much dirt I kneel & climb in. I’m not simply walking around in these. I’m working in them. I do wear socks when wearing these. They don’t have any arch support. But, I have worn them for a good six hours in the sun in 84 degree heat & humidity. My feet were comfortable. They were no hotter or sweatier than they would have been in sneakers. I wore them while digging with a shovel & they held up just fine. I’m not saying they’re as strong as a workboot. But, they have performed far better than I expected without splitting, cracking, or leaking. These Sloggers have exceeded my expectations. If you’re looking for waterproof boots, these are perfect. If you’re looking for waterproof boots to wear while gardening, I can’t recommend these more highly.

Cute but not enough support
I have the shoe like sloggers and they are more supportive i use them in the garden. The boot ones with the chickens on them are too difficult to slip on. Love the shoe like ones and fit is very good sizing is amazing i wear a 9 and the are perfect 9's. Perfect for someone younger and stronger to pull on the boot. I need support for my feet 100%. So if you are looking for that then the shoe ones are better.

OUCH!!!
I've had these boots for a while now and only worn them for short periods. They rubbed a bit but because I didn't wear them for too long, it didn't bother me. This morning I went for an hour-long walk wearing these boots. Halfway through the walk, I could feel these rubbing painfully on the balls of my feet and the baby toes. By the time I limped back to my car, I was in a lot of pain. A short drive home and pressure relieved during driving helped with the pain but as soon as I stepped out of my car, my feet were on fire. I had to drain 4 massive blisters due to these boots and I am now shopping for a different pair. SAVE YOUR FEET (AND YOUR MONEY) AND DO NOT BUY THESE HORRENDOUS BOOTS!!!

Great rain boots
I got these for that in between time in the spring when you don’t want to wear your tall snow boots and it’s too mushy for shoes when you go out to walk the pupper. I got a half size bigger and wear thicker socks and they are comfortable for our about 45 minute walks down our dirt road. I have feet that act up with plantar fasciitis so I have to be careful with my footwear and I had no problems with these.

love them!
When these arrived I was going to send them back because how was i going to get them on. My arthritic fingers couldn't grip the pull tab at the back and the hole was small. I grabbed my long shoe horn and the boots went on like a dream. Now as long as i don't take them off where there are no shoe horns to get them back on again, they work well. Wide feet?? (D width) They are comfy.
