Easy to use and made a big difference
I mostly take stills of "still image" material. This flash puts the light where I want it and how I want it. While my improvements have been marginal, they are better. The rest is all up to me to improve my photography skills. I am using it with my Nikon D3200 with the 18-55 and 50-200 lenses and it works great. It took me a bit to figure out how to mount it. I'm now combining this with an ND filter, which is helping with silver-colored items to bring out more details.I originally bought this because I was going to get 50% of this back after I wrote a review. Well, I can't review something in 10 days, especially when I'm extremely busy. I honestly don't care if I get the partial refund as I'm completely happy with the price/performance of this item. I am glad I was lured in by the offer in the first place or I never would have thought to try this out. I'm glad it worked out! I'm not going to bother them about the offer. Unfortunately my kids decided to try to break my camera and they failed on that but they broke the flash instead. I am now buying a second one without hesitation and am waiting for it to arrive. The upside is I can leave a mounting ring on both lenses, which helps on my photo sessions of skill toys.My only issue is I can't use my lens cap with this on. I'm trying to find a convenient solution for this. Still, I'm otherwise completely pleased with this entire system.

Does the job...
This flash is pretty interesting. It offers a few modes... a video mode (constant light), full ring, or either half ring modes. It does not offer E-TTL or TTL metering. It is a fully manual flash. The power can be adjusted by a couple of stops. Adjusting up and down is easy, as is switching between the modes. As expected, I did see a 1 stop difference in output when I only lit up half of the lights. i also saw a reduction in light output with the colored filters on the flash. there was a slight decrease in output with the frosted cover as well. That was all expected.Color balance with with either of the diffusers was neutral. The other ring covers give either a tungsten balanced light or a blue light. I did not measure the color temperature, but the raw LEDs appear to be close to a 5000K daylight balance, putting the amber ring at perhaps a 3200K light and I'm guessing about a 6500K light output with the blue ring. I don't see myself using those a lot, but I could be wrong... they are in the bag.Another nice touch in the bag is a WIDE selection of adapter rings. I am only carrying the two largest (72mm and 77mm) as they are the only ones I would use, but there were rings included down to 49mm. It should be easy to adapt to almost any SLR or DSLR camera and lens combo up to a 77mm filter ring size. It also includes a stand for the flash, but I have not checked operation with a remote trigger.Keep in mind, this is a $35 flash. My expectations were that it would be fairly low power, and it isn't a powerhouse, but as a ring flash, the vast majority of usage would be close-up photography. Power isn't a problem at these ranges. It is kind of plasticy feeling, but the build quality of this unit was pretty good. The ring covers all fit well, but I will be adding indexing marks to make them quicker to switch out. Overall, I think that this is a great value for anyone needing to shoot macro with a ring flash. It is fully manual, so a shooter will need to learn how to set up their camera and adjust exposure, but at this price it is hard to go wrong.I didn't set up much, just set some batteries in front of a gray card. With the flash power set WAY down, but the flash was only about 6" from the subject. Exposure was 1/125th at f11 or f16 and ISO6400 on a Canon 24-105 f4 lens with a Canon 80D body(I actually didn't look at the settings on the camera until I was done... I just backed down the power until it looked ok on the camera;s screen). I received the flash free in order to give it a review.

This flash is a ton of fun!
I am thoroughly enjoying this flash. It comes with a few lenses, and I love that it has an adapter for pretty much any lens. I paired it with my Sony a6000 and a 56mm lens for a little macro photography. This flash provided me the light to allow me to take the shot at f11 to get everything nice and crisp. Works perfectly with my hot shoe and fires every time. You won't go wrong here.

Nikon D750 the flash did not work
I have Nikon D750 - This does not work as a flash for me, but I am satisfied because I just use it in Light mode. I just got it today - took some stills with the continuous light with good results. If you want a flash I would say look for something else, but If the light mode works for you, you will probably like this. Two sample photos - one without any adjustments and one with auto adj in Lightroom. I only used the ring light alone. Normally I would use more light.

Don't count on it
OK for a home studio where you can take a ton of pictures over and over to get it right, but if you have an assignment or something you're trying to capture that will not happen again steer clear. It is inconsistent in that it won't flash all the time when it's supposed to. Missed several shots due to it not firing. It also really goes through batteries fast. Not worth the hassle and inconsistency.

Easy instructions
I have never used a macro flash ring because I was mainly doing landscape stuff. But after watching many vids on youtube,I decided to jump in. The flash is very bright. Fairly sustantial once assembled. Comes with many lens adapters, and color ring options. May not be the most expensive ring flash, but it will suffice as I learn macro .Tip: Buy rechargeable batteries!!

Screen came broken
Purchased as a Christmas gift, however when I opened the box to check the item, the screen is completely messed up, all pixelated, like it blew up or something. Really wanting a replacement because no one wants a broken Christmas gift...

Picture perfect
I am really impressed with this piece of kit from Shotory , I needed a ring light that was portable , so I could interchange with different camera that I have and we have as a family . It is of sturdy plastic and comprises of a macro ring head , 4 translucent diffuser , adapter rings according to the cameras lenses . The main benefit for us as a busy family household all with cameras , is that it is a universal piece of kit , and fits most dslr cameras . It innovative LED light gets close enough to natural light , to meet higher end photography. It can also be used on camcorders too . Which is great for my son as he is studying photography at college , This investment is well worth every penny . I wish I had bought it sooner
