Teaching Preaching: Isaac Rufus Clark and Black Sacred Rhetoric Paperback – October 15, 2007

Well I will just say hold on! This book is awesome and makes you wish you had been in Dr. Clark's class. He is a character but as real as they come. He is passionate about what a preacher should be. He believes what he is teaching and he really doesn't care what you think lol. Oh to have been a fly on the wall....Dr. Katie Cannon was the perfect candidate to tell this story. She gives it the reverence and respect it deserves.

I knew Dr. Clark. He loved preachers and preaching. He gave his life for it. I am a benefactor of his teaching and heart. This document is gold and platium! He offers tools to get at the Gospel for that the redeemed and those who desire to be redeemed. His goal is to teach the preacher, give the believer the road map that leads them out of their oppression into liberation, justice, salvation and sanctification. I HIGHLY recommend this book to every person who desires to say a Word fromthe Lord, and who has a Word from the Lord to deliver!!! Praise The Lord!!!

This item was purchase because it was a required textbook for a class I was taking. We really didn't use the textbook that much in class so I have not read it from cover to cover. It is more of a reference book for me than anything else. But since I have some extra time on my hands, I think I will read it from the beginning to the end. I am rating it 5 stars because of the great shipping/delivery that I received. Thanks Amazon for your service.

No doubt, this is a god book. I had a copy before but it got waterlogged,a nd I needed a clean copy. So, this was a excellent purchase this time for this book.

I took preparation for preaching from Dr. Clark but not delivery of sermons. The book is classic "Clark" and I appreciate his methods and madness more upon reflection as well as his determination not to have his students deliver empty sermons "up on that stage."

Excellent resource for anyone looking to say what thus says the Lord...be prepared for a challenge of the style and content of your message.

The book challenged readers to consider their tehnique and their commitment to the community when preaching.I would have liked more simplified outlines for my students to reference for the diferrent types of sermons.

The instructions and information contained in this book are excellent for teaching preaching. The language was a little too raw for my taste.
