BANDAI Hobby HGBF 1/144 Gundam Amazing Red Warrior Model Kit

BURN, GUNPLA! Let the burning colour ignite the passion in your heart!After finally catching up on GBFTry, I just HAD to have this gunpla. The Amazing Red Warrior is just that amazing.Right out of the gate, I knew this would be an awesome build. And I was not disappointed. After my last kit (a 1991 no grade F90 Type-V), I needed this newer feel of kit to cleanse the palette. The multi weapon system incorporated into this kit was a high point. The sheer volume of possible weapons shows the Meijin's abilities to fight with all his might. Included are 1 gunblade rifel with adjusting handle (2 blades, 1 short 1 long), 1 variable rifle (it has like 4 modes to work with) 1 gatling attached barrel, 1 high performance attach barrel, 2 beam shortblades, 2 beam longblades, 1 hyper bazooka, and... a slew of hidden missile/beam launchers on the body itself!So you're wondering, is he going to get to the negatives. So I guess I'll get to that now. The attach points on the back fall off easily, the rifle isn't completely stable, and the point where the beam saber input is seems to come out of the socket really easily... but otherwise this is a very designed kit.In so far as making custom kits, I originally considered using the F91 or the GP01 Zephyranthes as a base, but now I think I may just use this piece as a starting point. Sorry for the poor lighting on the pictures.

I was quite surprised on how great this gundam, but I shouldn't be too surprised since it's from a Meijin. It's a very sturdy and has great articulation. He was able to pose on one fight in a kicking stance with no support at all. Another surprising thing is how simple the kit actually was to build on this one, slightly easier than normal HGs.PROS:-Very sturdy joints-Great articulation in legs and arms-Two tones of red complement each otherCONS:-Being mainly red it feels a little plain-Generally other Gundams have little bits to cover hand and leg joints but these are a little more exposed than others.-Not really a con, just a note, the head is a single colour so the Vulcans and panel lines will need to be painted separate (but this is the case with most Gundams)Overall this is great quality for a HG, I usually wait until MGs because of the complexity of movements but this high grade wants me to get more in the HGBF line gundams.

This is an awesome high grade kit. The model itself is a great representation of how it looks in the show and it comes with many weapon accessories. The kit itself is not very hard to build (took me just over an hour and a half) also not many stickers either. One thing you should do though before building this kit or any other kit is to buy a pair of sprue cutters. These will really help when trying to cut out the pieces from the runners without damaging them. A lot of reviews claim that ARW(Amazing Red Warrior) is too red, but I beg to differ. He's supposed to be red and the red colour used for the pieces is very accurate to the anime. This is a great kit to add to any collection and there are so many possibilities for poses with the amount of accessories included. A must buy.

Some parts didn't fit together as intended and had to modify them to work

It's a fantastic gunpla, good sturdy joints combined with an amejin assortment of weapons. Only thing I noted that was annoying is the connector piece for the Gatling/beam rifle to combine with the other rifle will slip out when you have it in a stored position, but that is a small complaint, this kit is just too good to not have a 5 star review.

Looks cool on the box. Too many parts were loose once built. It was so bad that it almost wouldn't stand. This one is sitting in a box in the corner as it's so hard to pose and display.

The Red Warrior was on of my fav Gundams from my child hood, when it was originally introduce the gunpla options were limited. This model is exactly as i would expect it to look, and it have great modern articulation. it is easy to build, great for beginner of Gunpla, remember to combine this with some matte finishing spray.
