I needed a new exhaust right away for my 2000 Jeep Cherokee Classic since the original broke right at the cat. I got a quote of $315 at a local muffler shop and walked right out. Figure I would check if Amazon had something that I can get quickly. I originally wanted to order the a full Dynomax but it would not have arrived on time. I ended up piecing together a muffler, tailpipe, hanger, and clamps.The muffler slipped right over the stock catalytic converter. The Walker 55188 tailpipe fit slipped over the other end perfectly.Drove it about 1000 miles and no issues. Time will tell how long it will last. Hopefully longer than the rusted looking one pictured in the other review.

Got this in a pinch for a 5vzfe Tacoma in order to fit a BudBuilt trac bar. I wanted to keep the quietness of the OEM exhaust, so I was very reluctant to touch the OE exhaust. This muffler is not as quiet as OE but I'm thankful Walker makes a muffler tuned towards that in mind. On the 5vzfe, around ~2K RPM there is a drone from this muffler, and not at the back of the truck and sounds and feels like it is resonating and coming from the front of the truck- other than that its very quiet. I might have an old resonator I have sitting around welded in, in hopes of addressing this ~2K mid throttle region. Overall I'm impressed at the sound suppression given how much smaller this muffler is than the OEM one.

This muffler fit my '98 Jeep Cherokee 4.0 perfectly. It produces a low rumble just slightly louder than the stock muffler but sounds pleasant & not irritating. If you're looking for a muffler to make your Cherokee as quiet as a Lexus or Mercedes....this isn't it! I was looking for something that sounded similar to the OEM muffler but I can live with the low rumble. Being stainless steel should make this muffler last a long time.

It's okay, muffler seems built well but has discolored fast, not at quiet as the stock Cherokees so if total quiet is what you want look elsewhere but its not terrible.Purchased a crown muffler also looking for stock level quietness.... I was shipped this muffler at double the price with a crown label so do your research and return that crown.

It sounds great without being overly loud both outside the Jeep and inside the jeep. I have not experienced any drone. Fit perfectly on my 99 Jeep XJ 4.0L Sport model. Quality and construction seems right inline with other more expensive brands. Would recommend without hesitation!

Excellent direct replacement on a 1999 Jeep Cherokee. Very quiet, possibly equal to or very close to the stock muffler. I purchased this with a tail pipe and clamps. No modifications needed or done.

I wanted a quiet muffler for my adventures off road so I did not disturb nature as much. While putting around at low rpm it is barely noticeable and at cruising speed on the highway I can hear my tires more then the exhaust. If you stretch out your right leg you get a great tone and no drone. Louder then stock on my 98 4.0L but in a beefier way. It sounds more like a V8 and less like a fart can.

Fit perfectly on my 1999 Jeep XJ. Stainless steel, so I hope it will last much more longer.

So far, so good. It has only been installed for about 2 weeks, but it sounds fine and the price was right for a stainless steel muffler.
