The bindings, both front and back were separated from the cover. This often happens when it is dropped. The packaging was only a lined mailing envelop. Very unhappy and have photos but cannot get them to attach. The book itself is full of fantastic receipts.

This cookbook is good - a good Southern recipe book for those of us that absolutely LOVE southern fried food - living here in the North. I like the recipes because they don't call for gallons of oil for the food to be fried in - and I especially love the fried chicken recipe as that is one of our favorites when we do visit the south. It contains a lot of recipes not readily available here in the North - so - though I only gave it 4 stars - this book is well worth having!

I have several James Villas cookbooks, this is a great add to my collection! I enjoy the narratives and hints with the recipes. There are basic recipes along with southern classics and new favorites like Carolina Okra Beignets. It's a "must have" if you enjoy southern fried!

Bought this to use with my electric deep fryer. It's a nice book, lots of great recipes... but not what I should have bought. My mistakes...not a problem with the book.

Good novice info about the art of Deep Frying with good recipes. Good vendor.

Being a southern girl I am drawn to most southern cookbooks. Some are good and some are not. This is a good one. If you are worried about frying, don't. It is all in how you fry and the correct temperature and he explains this very well. I love this book!

Good recipe book, glad I purchased this have tried a few recipes and will be keepers.
