Cliffhanger and disjointed plot line.
I wanted to like this, I really did. The characters were initially intriguing. But the story line jumped back and forth so frequently without any explanatory transitioning that I stopped caring who they were. Wondering if my download was flawed, I checked reviews and realized it was not the download or editing, but the authors writing style. The review stating it was a cliffhanger ended it for me halfway through since already knew I wouldn’t be spending money on anything else from this author.

Did I get a different book than the reviewers?
This book was not chronological, nor were the chapters dated. I almost never leave a bad review but this book was so poorly written and clearly not edited that I have no other choice. I read half and it didn't make sense at all because it was like someone took the chapters and mixed them all up.That means, little tension (the most important thing to a romance), disjointed emotions, and nonsensical plot. I wanted to love it but unfortunately I didn't. Glad it was free and I didn't pay for it. I love to support indie authors, but I'd skip this one if I were you.

What was that?
I just finished The Vow and I couldn’t be more disappointed. I have so many questions! So much of the plot was left up to the reader. I thought I skipped parts inadvertently but no they were just skipped over. Intentionally! Why did Brett accept Reed’s offer even though he knew he wanted to try again with Elsie? What happened with Reed and Sophie? How did Brett get out of his contract after six months? How would Reed and Sophie know so much about Elsie as soon as she got in town?? Who tried to kill them in the car chase?? How did he have a rabid fan base even though the show hadn’t aired yet? I would challenge anyone to find the answers in this book because they are not there!! Oh and such a rich and famous tattoo artist who barely spends anytime at all in his shop! So much sex and very little conversations. My first book by this author and I won’t be reading anymore. Just say no, sorry!

A Steamy Second Chance
I loved everything in this book. Brett and Elsie were so perfect together and everyone could see it but them. I wanted to knock their heads together so the could see it too.The storyline about how cutthroat it can be in New York City was spot on and I was impressed at how Elise handled her new life. The supporting cast was the icing on the cake especially sassy Violet. I can’t wait for her story. The extra epilogue finished up the story.

Forever Mine
Elsie was Brett's little sister Kayla's best friend. She was also the girl whom he fell in love with as a teenager. The girl who's love and virginity he seemed to take and not have her be more than a dirty little secret. So after a rather unpleasant exchange she walks away from him. Then he seemly abandons her when he turned 18, walking away with no explanation. However the truth was he was abused and abandoned by his father. Now that she's 23 yrs old and in New York to prepare for an audition & her chance at a singing career in a contest, he will become her savior and more. The more she tries to resist seeing him & fight her feelings the more she needs him and stronger their connection becomes. The more she sees he's not the man she thinks he is the more her lust and love becomes obvious. And this time Brett will stop at nothing to have what and who he's always wanted. And being Kayla's best friend isn't going to get in the way. Nor will an abusive father, a shady producer, nor a junkie ex girlfriend. Brett Jackson is ready to extend his tattoo shop and forever love Elsie Carpenter.

Brett and Elsie!
When she was 16 all of Elsie’s teenage dreams came true when she gave herself to the man she has loved for years, Brett, who also happened to be her best friend’s older brother. When he decided to leave her and his family behind without a second glance she vowed to never let him near enough to either touch or hurt her again.Seven years later Elsie is pursuing her dream of music in NY when she finds herself without a place to stay. Having no other option, she goes to the one person she never wanted to see again, Brett. The feelings between them are stronger than ever but will this be their second chance or is Elsie destined for heartbreak once again?Although they may appear to be opposites there are so many layers to Brett yet to be revealed. They must work through their past as it isn’t as simple as Elsie believes.

What A Book
Elsie has been through so much in her life and going through the motions of her parents bitter divorce and just wanting a family that lived and cared about her and her parents showing her none of that and with it all the dreams that came with being a 16 year old teenager with raging hormones and the biggest crush on her best friends brother she gave her self up to the one and only man the she will ever love be and kinda hate! If I could rate this a 100 I so so would because you have to read the story yourself to really understand and appreciate it! And I was rooting for Heath and Violet since they were going at it.

Awful. Don't waste your time
Wow.... Where to start. I honestly think the people that rated it 5 stars must have read a completely different book to the one I read. The story took a long time to get interesting. There was so much back and forth between the two main characters, but of no real substance. Some of the chapters I felt seemed to end mid sentence, then the next chapter would pick up with a different character at a different time to the one you just read. It didnt flow at all and even as someone who literally inhales books and reads A LOT I really struggled to read it. The plot of the book is the typical sisters best friend second chance and would have been good if it was written better. I'm just glad it was free. There are better novels of this plot out there. I really wouldn't waste your time with this one. Safe to say i won't be reading any more of this author's books.

A rainy day read
Had this on my Kindle a while, and decided to spend an extremely wet Saturday reading it, well inbetween feeding the children. It had an Addictive start but gets a bit maudlin for a few chapters and you do wander where the story is going to take you. Regardless it's a second chance romance with lots of twists in the story. The main characters Brett and Elsie are both trying to make it and become successes in their respective fields but there are people who have other agendas and trampling their dreams are part of it. Brett and Elsie make it, only just, but you know there will be more to this story.

Easy read but lacked development
This was the first story by this author that I’ve read, and I wasn’t sold by it! I don’t always leave reviews, but as it would appear that I’m in the minority, I thought I’d share. The premise of the story was good but unfortunately I’ve read better. There were a couple of storylines within the story that seemed to be in there for padding only, but had they been developed, the book could have been better. I kept reading purely to finish in case it got better, but it didn’t. As an ‘easy read’ it was ok. I got this as a free download.

Nothing special.
This could have been so much better than it is. I think it tried to be a sort of 'Wait for it!' story but I feel like I'm still waiting. It was all over the place and was very much stop, start with no real flow. Very wordy just for the sake of it and that was a major distraction. I don't like having to decipher what the author is trying to say.2 stars for the story idea and the effort taken to write it. If the book had a decent edit it could be a really good read. I won't be reading the other books in the series based on this one.

Wish I hadn't bothered
Was a freebie so I'm glad I didn't waste any of my money on this. I have never read such an unstructured book, the story line is all over the place and in a lot of places downright unbelievable. There is no real substance between the main characters and none of the supporting cast are that well rounded either, so much so I kept losing track of who was who. I cannot think of anything worse than reading one follow on book let alone another four. If I could give it zero stars I would.
