One of the very best raw food books I have seen
What I want to know is, why in the world did it take me so long to stumble across this gem?! I own many raw recipe books and this is one of the very best I have seen. It's the 2nd edition of a book of recipes used at the Hippocrates Health Institute in Florida. It's by Anna Maria Clement (co-director of Hippocrates with her husband, Brian Clement) and Kelly Serbonich, former chef at Hippocrates (with 20 recipes by Chad Sarno, raw food chef extraordinaire).It is well-organized; has excellent production values; info galore on appliances, techniques, and ingredients; full color photos; 170 recipes (many, if not the majority, of which do not require dehydrating, which is great for me as I don't own a dehydrator); it's indexed; and the icing on the cake is that the book is spiral bound--it lays flat so you can actually USE IT in the kitchen. THIS is what a recipe book should be like. I have enjoyed the recipes I have tried from this book and I'm really happy I came across it.Highly recommended for raw foodists or anyone who wants to make interesting, healthful meals.

Nice book
Good recipes though many have 10 ingredients....I prefer simpler recipes. I was also surprised at the prevalent use of Braggs or Nama Shoyu. Some poor food combining (fruit and fat) with the mere explanation of 'this is bad food combining. You shouldn't eat too much.' -- that just rubbed me the wrong way and I would prefer they not include such recipes rather than catering to what people want. Want doesn't necessarily equal health.The book is BEAUTIFULLY laid out and has spectacular pictures. Includes very specific directions for techniques, such as how to roll a wrap. That's something I have not seen in other books.

This book is a great way of learning what is really healthy when it comes to diet. It covers all aspects from what to buy, how to combine and what gadgets to buy foryourkitchen. I definitely recommend it to those vegans or on their way to become vegans.

Not worth it for those already familiar with Raw foods!
I am a raw food chef and nutritional consultant and thought of adding this book to my collection - what a disappointment! I do not recommend to anyone who is already on a raw food diet and is familiar with what takes to prepare raw dishes, as it is incredibly boring and very basic. Everyone has heard of a blender, food processor and dehydrator these days. If you love bell peppers and are found of grains and do not care about gluten or the glycemic load of the foods you ingest (recipes include spelt, kamut, and dried fruits) then maybe you may consider this book. If you're a health conscious eater - low-glycemic, raw, vegan go with the Rainbow Live Cuisine by Dr. Gabriel Cousens instead.

Fresh food! Great recipes!
What's not to love! It is a very easy to use raw cookbook. I love the spiral binding which makes for flat pages when preparing a meal but following along with the book!VERY WELL WRITTEN and quality recipes I have enjoyed!

Sehr interessantes Buch
Das einzige Buch vom HHI Florida, welches den praktischen Aspekt, zubereiten der Mahlzeiten nach den HHI Florida Prinzipien zeigt. Ein wenig mehr theoretische Ausführungen dazu wären gut in diesem Buch. Die Rezepte sind lecker und innovativ und gut zuzubereiten, es wäre schon gut das übliche Equippment an Geräten für die Rohkostküche zu haben, um alle Rezepte ausführen zu können.
