This is NOT made to be bullet proof.
This item is: for light duty, very portable, simply designed and ideal for my application...puppies. At 4 weeks, my ShihTzu's puppies had outgrown the Amazon box they had known since birth (Thank You Amazon!).I tried looking at local ads, but I became nervous about buying a used baby playpen; no matter how 'like new' it may seem to the Seller. Also, what if the Private Seller has bedbugs? Lice? So, I asked Alexa to find a new human baby playpen on Amazon which guided me to this baby PET playpen. It is NOT made of hard or brittle plastic. Easily cut with tin snips or very heavy scissors. Not suitable to use as a support when getting yourself up off of the floor. Beagles, JackRs and the like will be over the top very soon after placement. This is a good birthing enclosure with lots of room for a decent sized bed, water and feed bowls, pee pad area (approx 2sf). Low threshold at the pre-assembled door panel with smooth rounded corners won't abuse Mama's mammary glands. Easy for puppies to enter and exit via the door. The sturdy door lock is 2 opposing metal rods that are held closed with springs, just pinch to open (Arthritis friendly). The door hinges are on the left when looking at the door from the outside. The door and door panel come fully assembled and the door is NOT reversible, nor is it meant to be removable from the panel.IF YOU READ NOTHING ELSE, PLEASE NOTE: When you open the door it can open a full 180 and the hinges will gently snap, keeping the door open-flat against the panel. It will appear locked with no idea how to set the door free again. The hinges' rod will not come out or turn. When I close mine, I lift the door and it raises about 1/2", I then slide my hand between the door and panel. I use my inserted hand to support the hinges as I use a bit of force to the face of the door and it closes, perfectly. The pet door that I added in the picture is no longer available on Amazon, but they do have one that appears to be identical from a different Seller for under $20Prime. It is called a Cat Door. (Why, I will never know.) I also used the tin snips to cut the pet door's inside piece. The door is pre-scored so no having to draw a line with a pen that doesn't write on plastic (very frustrating). One of the screw's head snapped off and the pet door is still sturdy and functional. Even with a screw loose.I have also added a large lick-the-ball water bottle (also Amazon). Walls are sturdy enough to hold the filled water bottle with confidence. Gotta teach them while they are young. You could easily wash the panels in the tub/shower. They may not survive your 5+hp pressure washer. This enclosure is ideal for inside use. It could be used outside with gentle use and the aesthetic design would be acceptable at a wedding reception or birthday party. The sun would bake this quickly if left outdoors for a season.Very easy to set up. Easily goes back in the box to store (fits under a twin bed, disassembled). Lightweight. Could be combined with like units. Can also fit in a corner as a triangle; with or without the door panel.

We love it!!!
I really love this play area. It works great for my pug puppy who just started her period. She feels safe in it, and it keeps her enclosed but still close to us and semi-free to roam. It was very easy to assemble, took us less than 5 minutes. It's light, but sturdy and I like that you can lock the crate open or closed by pulling on the black handles on the side. Definitely a great value for the price and would get again. I will say if you have a bigger dog or a dog that can easily jump over the gate then it would be helpful to use a sheet cover or a separate crate cover over the top

Perfect for Small Spaces
Wish the pen folded rather than come apart as four individual pieces, hard to assemble with one person. But the pen itself works great!

Pleased With This Pen!
I had to purchase a second pen for our IVDD senior dog. She's on strict crate rest while she heals. She doesn't like the enclosed wire cages. This one has more open slats then our other one. The door latch is similar to the plastic dog carriers where you pinch one set of metal latches to open and close. It doesn't have two, a top and bottom latch. Our dog doesn't try to get out so no biggie. The overall frame is sturdy and it was easier to assemble (no tools) unlike our other more expensive plastic pen. I'm just happy I was able to jump on this great Blk Friday deal as they sold out quickly! This one is going in our second floor spare bedroom, saving me from having to leave her downstairs while I'm upstairs doing tasks. This also easily folds flat for storing or taking with you if needed. My other one doesn't. Its pretty roomy (36"W x 36L" x 24" tall) for a small/medium size pet.

Good for small dog or puppies.
It is perfect for our purpose (restraining an old incontinent dog at night), but it is very light. It would probably be good for small puppies, but larger animals could easily move it or jump over it

Not For Escape Artists!
I bought this enclosure to give my two dogs (both senior miniature Dachshunds) a little more space when put up for the day while we are at work. Out of the box, it seemed a little flimsy, but I figured that it would do the job once everything was assembled.Day1: Came home to find the smallest one had leaped out of the pen. I should have known that the small dog bed that I put in the pen would have given her something to stand on in an effort to escape. I decided to thread some cord across the top, in a tight, zig-zag pattern to deter leaping over the walls.Day 2: Came home to find the little one had escaped again through a gap in the cord, near the corner. I must not have drawn the cord tight enough, because there was hole where she leaped through, over the wall. Getting serious, I decided to fasten an old baby gate over the top with zip-ties. "There is no way they'll get out this time", I thought.Day 3: Both dogs were loose when I arrived home from work. I fixed the top so well that they decided to chew through the fence and escape. I officially give up and will now move to Plan B.Conclusion: I get the concept, but this simply won't keep a small pet contained that is determined to get out. I'd probably look for something with higher walls and sturdier material. Sorry Amazon, you should send this back to the Engineering Department for redesign.

Not recommended for small puppies
I'm currently using this product for a litter of 3 week old Miniature Schnauzers. At 3 weeks they become more mobile so they move around their area a lot more. The past 2 days I have had 2 puppies get their head stuck in the square design of the fence. I would not recommend the pen for small puppies. Although the product is well made and would be perfect for older puppies and dogs.
