TAYLOR 9840 PROFESSIONAL DIGITAL MEAT POCKET LCD THERMOMETER WITH BATTERY, NEW,

This was a replacement for the same model which I liked that had ceased functioning. The design had changed in some regards. The switches went from toggle to push-button and the case was changed from metal to plastic. The pic showed a black model, what was received was red.

This is just a replacement for the one my husband used when he first started his career as a chef. He taught me to always check the meat temps before serving. His thermometer lost its power so now I have a new one to use. Thank you!

My first item was defective. Response from seller was great...immediately sent a replacement. Taylor is a great product this is my 3rd one in almost 30 years of cooking. The defective item was an anomaly. Buy it with confidence.

This unit reads consistently 2 degrees below my other thermometers. I would return it but the shipping and drive to the post office is not worth it. I purchased this to replace an old one just like it. The old one lasted several years.

Inexpensive and very useful

This takes FOREVER to rise to the temperature. Kind of maddening, by the time it gets close we wonder, is it because this thermometer takes so long the meat has cooled down by now?!

advice about replacement battery

I ordered 2 of these for use in my shop. One worked, the other gave me an error “L”. I contacted the seller with no response. I initiated a return from Amazon, sent back the one defective one, and weeks later have not seen a response.Poor seller communication and horrible quality product. I won’t be buying again.
