DC Power Pigtail Cable, 12V 5A 2.1mm x 5.5 mm Male & Female Connectors
I purchased these so that I could covert a battery powered "CHEAP" record cleaning device. The cleaning device ran on 4 D-Cell batteries, and after about 20 or so cleanings the batteries would start to show weakening. So I decided to convert it to AC/DC power. These connectors work great, straight out of the package, connected the positive to red and the negative to red/black, corresponding to tip being positive. Worked on first power up. Since the device is rate at 5V 500ma, any 5V wall charger for a phone will work, heck I did not even realize I could now use it with USB power and the package I received has 10 male and female connectors, so I created a male to USB adapter, now I have one that runs from the wall and one that I can run from any USB port. I do not why I did that, maybe it was that I could. These are good connectors. Well made and even if they fail they are so in-expensive they are easy to replace.

They all worked fine.
I read the reviews of people who had problems mine were 100% to the good. I build my cables differently than the guy with the video problems as I create a straight cable than attach a (4 way) splitter on the end.

Poor quality control
I bought 3 packs of these, from the one pack I opened so far 7 of 10 male connectors have some kind of internal break on the negative side. Gently pushing (less than 15*) or twisting the base of the connector where the wire joins causes the negative connection to open somewhere (tested by putting a multimeter across the negative wire and the outer metal part of the barrel with a multimeter in continuity mode). One of the seven didn't have a connection even when straight and unbent. This makes it impossible to use for any application where the cord can be moved or needs to bend at all. That said, 5 of the 5 female connectors I've used so far work fine.Additionally, as other reviewers indicated, the male and female connectors sometimes have an exposed gap when plugged together.TL;DR:Poor quality control, More than half the male connectors in a single package were defective.
