Great deal and excellent custard ! Doesn't taste like an instant!
I love this custard !!!First off, can't believe how economical it is ! It makes A LOT of batches of custard! You want to keep the unused (opened) container in your fridge to keep it fresh. This cooks up in a few minutes (seriously) and is delicious! It tastes like homemade, not an instant too!Just can't say enough! LOVE IT!

False expectations? Absolutely the best custard for 67 years!
To address complaints that it's runny and lumpy: If you wanted a flange-type, pumpkin pie solid, custard, then this may be the wrong product. For one thing, it is lighter, and for another, it is not made with egg. Both serve to make the molecular bonds that thicken it. If you boil, you break down those molecular bonds so you end up with runny custard. Don't boil, like the directions say. If you end up with lumps, then you didn't follow the directions about dissolving the sugar and powder in a little COLD milk first and making it a smoothe paste. When cooked properly, and thickened properly, it is similar in consistency to a Jello pudding, instant or cooked, when first made; and like a jello pudding, this custard does thicken and set once cooled in the fridge. But Jello has a lot more junk in it so the consistency is not the same (and they want to make us sugar addicts). This is light, very creamy, the flavor serves to enhance what it is poured over (like cobbler or figgy pudding) -- it is not a strong flavor.I've been eating this for all of my 67 years, thanks to my English father. It is wonderful! I now have a milk allergy so make 1/2 cream (which I can tolerate) and 1/2 almond milk -- and I prefer this to being made with milk - more creamy. I also make it with less sugar (1 Tbsp. is fine), or with half sugar, half stevia. Just fine. I made it to go with my figgy pudding (fresh fig cobbler) last week, and this morning I'm having it as breakfast poured over fresh grapes and banana. Amazon, I need some more and this 3-pack is clearly the best deal, thank you!

These do NOT contain 10.58 ounces!
The following comment seems to apply to most (perhaps not all?) of the online sellers for this product: These tins of custard powder are listed as 250 grams / 10.58 ounces. But the plain fact is that 250 grams is only around 8.8 ounces (not 10.58). So, the actual contents in ounces are 16% smaller than stated. To confuse the buyer even more, the quoted price per ounce also implies they are 10.58 ounces (simply multiply the price per ounce by 10.58 and you get the listed price per tin). So, the actual price per ounce is 16% higher than stated. As it happens, Birds do sell a 300 gram tin in the stores in the UK - which truly is 10.58 ounces! But that is almost certainly not what you'll receive if you buy online (although it's possible some sellers are truly selling 10.58 ounce / 300 gram tins). If you can confirm the true size and the price per ounce is good then go for it - look for a 300 gram listing or a photo showing you a 300 gram label. But beware of price-shopping different sellers on a price per ounce basis - make sure they're actually selling the size they list! The product itself was fine for us - we got three tins with best-by dates over a year in the future.Unfortunately, for this seller, the packaging is too fragile - just a bag - one tin had burst and leaked a small amount of contents. Some customers have reported receiving completely burst and unusable shipments - that really inflates the price per ounce! These items should be shipped in a rigid box since the tins are not designed to be squashed by adjacent harder/heavier packages during shipping.

THE BEST!
I ALWAYS make 2 pints (my US husband loves it,even on it's own!), also the way I make it...I add 1can of evaporated milk to my measure jug and add enough usual milk to make the 2 pints then continue as the instructions say, but I use less sugar ( 3 tablespoons with 4 rounded tablespoons of the custard powder, can always add extra to taste) , add the powder and sugar to a medium saucepan and a little milk to make a loose paste then gradually add the rest of the milk and bring to a boil over medium heat,DO NOT stop stirring ( I use a small balloon whisk)The custard thickens as it cools.

Best Custard I've Ever Had
Directions are confusing so pay attention to the reviews on line where people tell you exactly what to do to make it come out better. Don't give up because it's a lot of trial and error to get it just right. The end result is worth it especially for anyone who struggles with eating or swallowing.
