The media could not be loaded. This makes a delicious custard! The recipe is very simple. You can customize it to suit your taste. I made a simple custard pudding. I put a little ready made caramel in my ramekins first, then poured in the custard. I let a cool a bit and then I refrigerated it.It’s so so good!!!

I've been using this to make 3 Layer Brownies (Canadians later called Nanaimo Bars), since I was teen back in the 70's. It's still just as good as back in the 70's.

I couldn't find this item in grocery stores so I ordered it on Amazon. It was authentic and exactly what I needed for my favourite Canadian Christmas treat.

Always so hard to find good custard in the USA. Birds is trusted, tried and true. Turns out the inventor popped up in my ancestral family tree and I had even been to the Custard factory in Birmingham UK prior to knowing. Who knew?

I used to be able to buy powdered custard in my pudding section and really enjoyed how that worked with my brandy and sherry Trifle recipe. After a few years of not finding it on the shelves, I decided to try this Bird's version custard as it's English like my trifle recipe. It did make a very nice light custard but I didn't think it had the level of flavor of the powdered custard I can no longer get. This may be an English favorite though so I feel the need to point out I'm an American that has not tried an English made trifle. Perhaps this is just what they would prefer. The Bird's took over an hour to make mostly waiting for it to come to a boil over medium heat. I don't remember the version I was looking for taking that long. I would like to point out to the packaging people that the instructions for entirely too teeny. My husband and I were just laughing. It was ridiculous how illegible that teeny type is to 55 year old eyes. I read my cell phone all day. My eyes aren't that bad. I think I'd try to rework that type for a better fit within the space. I'd also like to try this again with just fruit. I think it would be very nice.

Tasteless and did not like the texture. Throwing this away.

This is the second time I purchased this item and the 1st time the expiration date was a year away. This time, the expiration date was 3 months away. Amazon was great about the return. Otherwise, this powder adds a extra flavoring in my waffles and Hong Kong egg cakes.
